Title John 10:22 - Jerusalem
Contents
The Feast of Pentecost came to Jerusalem, and it was winter.
Then came the Feaster of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter.
1. What God is doing
God made Jerusalem the city of the great king. No matter how great the king of this world is, he cannot be as great as God. Because any king is but a creation of God. People often exalt the king who occupied a lot of land and ruled the people well as a great king, but God has already judged the rulers of this world through the Holy Spirit. Jesus said it is good for you that I am leaving this world. Because Jesus said that the Counselor will not come to you unless you go away. But Jesus said that when he left this world, he would send the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, to you. The Comforter, the Holy Spirit, has already come into this world. The Comforter, the Holy Spirit, has already come to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Regarding sin, they are rebuking us because we do not believe in Jesus. Of righteousness, because Jesus went to the Father, and even those who believe will never see Him again. He said that the word about judgment is because the king of this world has been judged.
Jesus was born in the Jerusalem below, but in reality He came from the Jerusalem above. All the words that Jesus preached were full of words that were not of earthly words, but only from the Jerusalem above. The words of Jesus could set us free from slavery and set us free from the bondage of sin. Nevertheless, in this world then and now, those who are born after the flesh are persecuting those who are born after the Spirit in many different ways. Although the intensity or intensity of persecution has changed in many ways, the persecution continues. Those who say there is no persecution are because they themselves are collaborating with, sympathizing with, or sharing cultural ideas with the people of Jerusalem from below, from Sinai.
(1) The Feast of Pentecost came to Jerusalem.
God controls the time. And he made the people of Israel set an appointed time. God is in control of the times and appointed the times so that you may serve Him completely. The same goes for the feast day. The Hebrew seasons have regular and irregular seasons. The regular feasts are the Sabbath, the new moon, the Sabbath, and the Jubilee. And the irregularly set feasts are the Feast of Pentecost and the Feast of Purim. Among them, the festival called Purim was also called the festival of dedication or the festival of light. It commemorates the cleaning and rededication of the Temple by Judas Maccabees in 165 B.C.E. Even so, God is always at the center of all feasts. This is because the purpose of the festival itself was to serve God. And the Lord of Sabbaths, New Moons, Sabbaths, or Jubilees is always Jesus. After all, regardless of whether it is a festival or not, a person who receives instructions from the Lord Jesus can be the one who keeps the festival properly.
God not only sent his Son Jesus as the great king of Jerusalem, but he also sent him to be the lord of all feasts, regular and irregular. Unless people recognize Jesus as the great King of Jerusalem and the Lord of all the feasts, we have no choice but to stay in Jerusalem from below. You cannot escape the status of a servant born from Sinai. However, if we serve Jesus as the great King of Jerusalem and acknowledge him as the Lord of all feasts, we can become the people of Jerusalem who were born from above. Abraham before Jesus rejoiced to see the day of Jesus, and when he saw it, he rejoiced. Moses wrote about Jesus, David said Jesus is Lord, and John the Baptist said that Jesus preceded me.
(2) It is winter in Jerusalem.
God controls the time. God makes winter and summer suitable for each territory. Although in some places it is summer all year and in other places it looks like winter all year round, a close observation can tell the difference between winter and summer. God separated winter from summer so that when winter passes and summer comes, he may see the day approaching. So Jesus taught us the parable of the fig tree. When the branch becomes tender and leaves leaves, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things, know that the Son of Man is near, at the door. It was winter when Jesus came to Jerusalem, but Jesus came for summer. He is the one who arrives at the door of each person's heart and welcomes summer by knocking outside the door today.
The two Jerusalems that God had ordained were to make them look at the Jerusalem above. Each season that God has ordained is to usher in the time of summer. When you are constantly circumcised and healed by the words of Jesus, you will be able to welcome the coming summer well. Otherwise, it will always be winter. Whether it is the Feast of Pentecost, the Feast of Purim, even the Sabbath, the new moon, the Sabbath, and the jubilee, there is no choice but to celebrate the feasts except for Jesus. I do not want anyone to judge me about eating and drinking and about the festivals, new moons, or sabbaths, because these are only shadows of things to come. In fact, the body of all these things is only Christ.
2. The heart of God
He wants to know more about Jerusalem.
God does not want His people to be immersed in the visible Jerusalem. What God makes visible is not the visible Jerusalem, but the invisible, eternal city of Jerusalem. This is because if we focus only on the visible Jerusalem, we cannot escape the status of a slave born on Mount Sinai. By seeing Jerusalem, the eternal city where Jesus, the great King, resides, He wants us to be servants of Jesus as our Lord in every season. Jesus doesn't just let us stay in the winter. By making us look forward to the time of summer, He makes us realize that the Son of Man is at the doorstep. He wants those who are healed with the word every day until that day to become those who have a perfect understanding of Jerusalem.
Luke 13:34 ?쏪erusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how many times have I sought to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her young under her wings, but you were not willing.??
Jesus said that it was the place where the prophets were killed, toward Jerusalem, which is on earth, which is below. He said that it is a place where those who are sent are stoned. It has not changed then or now. They do not act as prophets, but as tourists. They didn't come there as a dispatched person, but because they came there to explore the ruins or to visit, they were not stoned. Jesus said, ?쏦ow many times have you tried to gather your children in Jerusalem, like a hen gathers her chicks under her wings? But you did not want it, and he said that you would not see Jesus in Jerusalem any more until you say, ?쁇e who comes in the name of the Lord.
3. Who God is
He is the one who knows Jerusalem well.
God is the one who makes his people know Jerusalem well. Jerusalem on earth is the one who makes it clear that he did not want Jesus.
4. Traces of Jesus (Confession and Sharing)
(1) The blood of Jesus - What we didn't know about Jerusalem
(2) The life of Jesus - what we decided to know about Jerusalem
5. Prayer
Jesus is still not present at the festival in Jerusalem.
He is interested in the feasts, the new moons, and the sabbaths.
Being in slavery like the one born on Mount Sinai
forgive me
May I be healed every day until summer comes
On the feast day of the new moon, let Jesus be the Lord
Following the example of Jesus who embraced Jerusalem in this world
Embrace me to the end, so that I may yearn for the Jerusalem above.
