Joseph's DNA (Genesis 41:46-52)

There is such a thing as genes (遺傳子). Genes contain the information necessary to construct and maintain the cells of living things, and are passed on to offspring through reproduction. Gregor Mendel, the founder of genetics, discovered that genetic traits inherited from parents are passed on to offspring. But in the 1940s, DNA was discovered. DNA is a complex organic chemical molecular structure that transmits genetic traits, and it is present in all living cells. DNA can be said to be the root, the source, that defines the 'being of life' of an organism. A characteristic of this DNA is that it is connected with a long chain. The innumerable amounts of DNA that make up cells are linked by long chains.

Why did God create the DNA structure in the form of chains? It means relationship. All of our thoughts, actions, and appearances are related in some way to relationships. It cannot exist without a relationship. Therefore, the most important thing to consider as living beings, especially human beings created in the image of God, especially those of us who were redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and recreated as children of God, is the relationship. The relationship must be healthy. That way you will be blessed.

Wouldn't Joseph have a special DNA? Joseph, what kind of structure did he have? What kind of relationship would have been strong and healthy? Finally, Joseph became the prime minister of Egypt. It is also not an ordinary prime minister (Genesis 41:42-43). As Pharaoh said, the only thing that was higher than Joseph was the throne (Genesis 41:40). How powerful he was is also reflected in the name of ‘Sabnath-barnea’ (Genesis 41:45). It means ‘savior of the world’. Joseph, he was crowned as the most powerful man in all Egypt, both in name and in reality. It must have had a truly unique gene, DNA.

First, above all else, he maintained a healthy relationship with God. In the midst of countless crowds who do not acknowledge God, he is shouting “Coram Deo”. He maintained a good relationship with God to the very end. It did not change according to circumstances, circumstances and circumstances. He is glorifying God where he stands. If you open your mouth, you are still God. Even if we are misunderstood, even if we are framed, even if we fall into a pit, even if we are betrayed, it is God. Even if you beget the first, or if you have the second, you are God. Maintaining a healthy relationship with God.

Second, I maintained healthy relationships with others. What were the people around him like? Far from helping him, weren't they all trying to harm him? But Joseph tries to maintain good relationships with the people he meets. Some envy, jealousy, conspiracy, and betrayal, but Joseph never confronts or seeks revenge. They struggle to maintain a healthy relationship. It's not really that easy. Joseph always valued his relationships with others, and he tried to maintain good relationships no matter how they approached them. This is his DNA.

Last Friday, about 40 Korean religious leaders, including the general president of each denomination, as well as the Minister of Unification and North Korea officials held a North Korea support policy forum at a place. After hearing the government's unification policy, the religious circles discussed what to do with North Korea. Eventually, the parable of the good Samaritan in Luke 10 and the biblical interpretation of the “enemy” in Romans 12 (Romans 12:19) appeared. The conclusion is that ‘October 3 is the 20th anniversary of the reunification of Germany, and the reunification of Germany did not come suddenly, but because the Church has consistently helped East Germany for 40 years. The Korean church has to take on this task.”

Finally, Joseph maintained a healthy relationship with himself. It keeps failing and doesn't work out every time you do it. Not for one or two years, nothing for more than ten years. However, he does not self-deprecate or give up. ‘It is never the end until God says it is the end. The first half is over, but the second half remains. I never give up until the very end. my dream will surely come true Even if I fall, I get up again. Go faster through this ordeal. grow up bear fruit I stake everything on my vision. I am made in the image of God. Here and here, God is with me.’ In this way, he was maintaining a healthy relationship with himself.

Joseph had a healthy relationship with God, his neighbors, and himself. What was the secret to having such DNA? “Joseph called the name of his eldest son Manasseh, because God made me forget all my troubles and all my father’s household. (Gen. 41:51-52). The ancients revealed their hearts and minds through the names of their children. ‘Manasseh, forget it. It means ‘Ephraim, bear fruit’. These two names were Joseph's life philosophy and motto.
