Title [Joshua 15:13-19] People of Faith
In the previous chapter, we looked at Caleb, the man of faith. Today, we are going to introduce people of faith who appear in the process of conquering Hebron and Debir and receive grace. Also, I hope it will be a blessed time for you to decide to walk in faith with them.
1. We can confirm Joshua's faith, who obeyed the Lord's commands (13).
2. You can confirm Caleb's faith, who practiced what he declared (14).
Verse 14 says, “From there Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak: Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai.” When Caleb asked Joshua to give Hebron as an inheritance, he declared, “There are Anakites there, and their cities are great and fortified, but if the LORD is with me, I will drive them out just as the LORD has spoken” 14:12). According to the declaration, the descendants of Anak were driven out. Believers are responsible for what they say. In particular, we must risk our lives to practice what we say in the name of faith, that is, God. Even if circumstances change, if you do not practice what you say, you are not a true believer. It's much better not to say it if you don't have the confidence or confidence to do it. In some cases, there are those who do not even fulfill their promises to God, which is not the right attitude of a believer. Let's become people of faith who surely put into practice what we declared to do like Caleb. Such a person can be recognized not only by God but also by people. The life of a true believer is a responsible life in which one's words are regarded as life and practiced.
3. You can confirm the faith of Othniel who bravely defeated the enemy (17).
