Title [Joshua 19:49-51] Great Spiritual Leader
In Joshua chapters 16 and 17, Joshua's distribution to the people of Israel is summarized and recorded as a conclusion. In all of this, you can discover Joshua's spiritual leadership. In some ways, Joshua can be said to be the epitome of the spiritual leaders in charge of the church of this age. I hope that you will receive grace and lessons as you examine Joshua's deeds.
1. All these things were done before the Lord (Joshua 18:10, Joshua 19:51).
Most people are conscious of people. There are many times when we do not treat people fairly and do things with partiality in order to gain their popularity. But that's not the right thing to do. Joshua had the requests of each tribe, but he dealt with them fairly and fairly before the Lord, so he dealt with them rightly. Joshua 18:10 says, “And Joshua cast lots for them before the LORD in Shiloh, and he distributed the land there according to the divisions of the children of Israel.” Do it,” he said. Spiritual leaders should always make sure that their business is before God. We have to do things that are in line with God's will, we have to do things that bring glory to God, and we have to do things that God will praise us for doing right. It is wrong to handle work based on one's own self-interest or subjective judgment, and it is also wrong to conduct work that pleases people and disappoints God. May we always do everything “before Jehovah” with an attitude of mind.
2. This work was done with Eleazar the priest and the chieftains of the tribes (51).
3. He did not reveal his personal greed.
