Title Joshua 2:1 Faith begets faith.

Faith begets belief.
Joshua 2: 1-21, Hebrews 11:29-31
Faith always has an object of comparison. For example, to believe means to confess that you believe that God is greater than people, that it is wiser to live according to the Bible rather than the values of reality, and that you believe that the kingdom of God is more certain than the visible world. It is also a confession that love is stronger than hate, that being humble is more blessed than trying to be exalted, and that honesty is worth more than a moment's escapism. Today, the person of faith, Rahab, will be saved because of that faith. He also gave hope to two spies. Furthermore, he gave the whole nation of Israel the hope of capturing the city of Jericho.
Faith begets faith. I pray in the name of the Lord that we can all have the love of the Lord Jesus Christ and be able to produce faith in hope for the wonderful things that God will do.
In particular, today is Goddess Sunday as determined by the General Assembly. Personally, in my family, my great-grandmother was a member of the Early Church. So, in our family, it is not an exaggeration to say that ‘faith begets faith’ because faith began with the goddess. That's why I especially love Goddess so much. My father loves Namshindo. So she gave birth to three sons. I loved the goddess so much that I had three daughters ^^ (I'm joking, but what if I don't laugh?)
This is the reason why we chose the woman in today's sermon. Following Rahab's faith today, I hope that we too will be able to overcome all negative things, worldly unrest, and move forward boldly with only faith, so that we can be saved.
As Rahab promised when Israel occupied Jericho, ① her whole family was saved. Not only that, he received the wonderful grace of becoming the father of ②Jesus. Legend has it that Rahab's husband Salmon was one of the spies of Jericho. In Matthew 1:5-6, “Salmon fathered Boaz by Rahab, Boaz fathered Obed from (Ruth), Obed fathered Jesse, and Jesse fathered King David.” reveals its genealogy. In Ruth 2:1 we read, “There was a powerful relative of Naomi’s husband Elimelech, whose name was Boaz.” He says that Boaz is a ‘powerful man’. The reason Boaz became such an influential person, a person of faith, and a person of influence is because the main character, Rahab, raised him in faith.
Dear saints, (Especially the goddess) We say we are lacking. And there are times when it is difficult to know what to do and how to do it because of weakness. However, the important thing is that God wants people who are lacking like us to give birth to powerful people and people of great faith that move the world. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will confess the truth that faith can produce faith at this time today. So, how can we create faith?
Like Rahab, let us first boldly confess God. The city of Jericho boasts the best walls, unlike many other cities that the Israelites have fought so far. It is an impregnable fortress. According to the Sun Tzu Warfare Law, it is said, “With the same strength, the number of attacks should be three times the number of defenses.” Today, the nation of Israel is nothing more than a wanderer who has no weapons and has changed from objective facts. There is very little chance that a random Israeli army can capture Jericho. No, hardly any. Nevertheless, Rahab confesses that Israel can win this war. Because if it is God, it is possible if it is a nation with God. So Rahab welcomes the spies in peace. And it has come to salvation. Today's New Testament text, Hebrews 11, is the faith chapter. Rahab's faith, the confession of that faith, brought about salvation.
Dear saints, Your faith becomes the seed that saves our family. We believe that our faith will become the foundation for building Onyang Church beautifully. Hopefully, because of our faith, our juniors will be reborn as people of God who will lead this country and people.
Holy Father God! Thank you. Thank you for helping me realize the truth that faith begets faith today. Add faith to our weak faith so that we can confess that you are alive. With faith, let us see the wonderful things that God will do, and let us depend only on you. Let me go forward boldly with faith. Like Rahab, who was justified by works, let us all radiate the beautiful fragrance of Christ in our lives. May I long for salvation. Make me yearn for God's plans and the wonderful things that He will accomplish. So, like Rahab, who put the red string on the spear right now, let us ask for the power of the Holy Spirit and rely on the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. Especially, today is Goddess Sunday. Please show us the truth that faith begets faith through our goddess. I look forward to the Lord who will be with you and I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
