Today we are going to talk about how we should worship. It is truly precious for sinners to gather and worship the living God, and it is the duty of human beings. We need to think about how we can offer worship well. Worshiping God as our creatures is a privilege given only to us people.
I hope that you will become a group of gracious worshipers who focus their hearts and worship.
1. The basic spirit of worship is to give to God.
In John 4:23, 24 we are instructed to “worship him in spirit and in truth”. True worship is for poor sinners to dare to see Almighty God as their Father. Worship is confessing our sins to God through worship, trusting in the blood of the Lord to have our sins washed away, praising God, and going out into the world by receiving the Word of God.
2. The center of worship life is holy water on Sundays.
In this time, we will think about why we should keep Sunday. It is true that modern people are very busy these days. And yet, "Is it necessary to keep Sunday?" There are people who say things. Nevertheless, it is said that "We must keep Sundays." There is a reason.
First, first of all, holy water on Sunday is a command from God.
Believers must at least be able to obey the Word of God. As people of God's kingdom, we must learn to obey God's laws. As a child of God, if you live disobeying the Word for personal reasons or greed, that is not the attitude of a blessed saint.
Second, because Sunday is the Lord's day.
Sunday is not our day. For six days, the truth is the Lord's. As if everything we got in this world belongs to the Lord. However, it is as if you were receiving the whole while receiving the tithe in particular. Sunday is a day set apart as the Lord's Day. Because I know this day as my day, I follow my own desires and do not worship God. Even in the world, if you own something that is not mine, you will be punished as a criminal. Sunday is the Lord's day, so we must give it to Him.
Third, Sunday is a day to worship God.
There is nothing more precious on earth than to worship God. Even if any high person in the world invites me on Sunday, it is a day to worship God on Sunday. Worship is not just for one hour of daily and daily worship, but it is a day to serve God, worship God, praise God with all your heart, and listen to the word of God from above.
Fourth, Sunday is a day to receive grace from God.
A person who succeeds in worshiping with holy water on Sunday will live a life of success in social life for six days. It is a day when we receive the blessings God gives us, receive God's grace, and gain new strength on Sunday.
Fifth, Sunday is a day to do good.
Sunday is a day for doing good things that please God and saving lives. The Lord also did good on the Sabbath to save lives. Sunday is a day of evangelism, and Sunday is a day of doing good works.
Sixth, because Sunday is the first day of every day.
Since it is a day to do such a precious thing, we prepare for the week to keep it right. For unbelievers, Sunday is the last weekend of every day, but for us, Sunday is the first day. Just as clothes need to be properly buttoned to make clothes look good, a week is peaceful when the first day of the week is well spent. That's why the Bible says "the first day after the Sabbath" (John 20:1, 19, Acts 2:1-4, 18:4, 1 Corinthians 16:2, Revelation 1:10).
Seventh, it is a day when you cannot do private things.
Now let's read Isaiah 58:13 together. “If you keep your feet from the sabbath, and do not do my pleasures on my holy day, and you call the sabbath a delight, and the holy day of the Lord honorable, you will honor it, and do not walk in your own ways, do not seek your amusements, or speak privately. If not," yes. This week, you are not doing entertainment, that is, doing things that please you. Every time we approach Sunday, we should think of it as "a joyous day, an honorable day." He said that he honors this day, does not walk in his own way, and does not speak privately on Sundays. If you keep Sunday holy in this way, God will bless you. Let's read verse 14 together. “You will find joy in the LORD, and I will raise you on the high places of the earth, and I will raise you up for the inheritance of your father Jacob, saith the LORD.”
In other words, you will find joy in this work of serving God. God raises up those who know and keep the Lord's Day in this way, on the high ground of the earth. He also said that God will nurture them. I pray that the members of our presidential election will receive this wonderful grace.
We witnessed houses collapsing around us and bridge construction collapsing. Why did you become so miserable? Poor construction was said to be the main cause. He said it was because he didn't do it according to the law or according to the design. Therefore, people must have the basics right, and buildings need to have the right foundations as well.
We are people who build and live a house of faith. If you poorly build a house of faith, there will be things in your life that you do not need to worry about. Our lives and our faith must not become insolvent or sloppy construction. The holy water on Sunday is the foundation of our religious life. It is said that God exalts those who do well from the time they are young or start their religious life on this foundation.
General Zachary Taylor, who was elected as the 12th President of the United States, was inaugurated as President on March 4, 1849 by the Constitution, which coincidentally happened on a Sunday. Those of the American people who keep the presidential term stipulated in the Constitution exactly, these are the things that we really need to learn. As a result, America became a great country and a country that God protects.
You don't know how beautiful this attitude is to give up your own interests and obey God's Word to keep the Lord's Day. God is pleased with this. God will surely reward you. The Lord told us to work hard for six days and rest on the seventh day. God Himself did the same. Sometimes, there is a temptation that if you live your life by keeping the Sunday, you will lose a lot of things. However, as God's blessings come upon us, we live a life of greater blessings as a result. The Bible clearly says it. Let's read Isaiah 58:14 again. “You will find joy in the LORD, and I will raise you on the highest places of the earth, and I will raise you up for the inheritance of your father Jacob, says the mouth of the LORD.
The president of "This Land", Park Seong-soo, as you are well aware, is a devout Christian, and his testimony is that his daily sales on a weekly basis account for about 40% of the total sales. Dear all! Holy Week should not be a passive day of worship and rest, but an active day when we receive blessings. Dear all! No matter what happens, keep Sunday holy and do not exchange it for anything else. Please do not compromise with anything about Sunday. And no matter what happens, please make Sunday the "Lord's day, the Lord's work day, the most important day in my life, and the most blessed and joyful day." Be prepared to defend it no matter what damage and sacrifice it may take! Believing clearly means that God will bless you who respect God and keep His commandments and make you successful in life.
