If you know your sins (Romans 5:20-21 Kim Jeong-tae)
The law entered into the law to increase the transgression, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more so that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ. Inira
Introduction
When they come to church, they talk about being filled with the Holy Spirit. This is because the church cannot speak except for the filling of the Holy Spirit. Because of the filling of the Holy Spirit, the church began in Mark's upper room, and through the filling of the Holy Spirit, all the prophets began the work of God.
However, many believers do not expect much from this filling of the Holy Spirit.
It is because there is no problem in living without being filled with the Holy Spirit. That's right. No problem. But going to church without being filled with the Holy Spirit is missing something really important and losing the true meaning of going to church.
The church is a difficult place to enter without the fullness of the Holy Spirit. It's okay to walk around without it, but soon the fun will go away. If you go because of a wonderful brother or a wonderful sister, you will stumble if one member, not God, disappoints that person. If an encounter makes him go to church, his faith will change if that encounter changes. The church is not a place that changes like that. If you know the true church, you will see the unchanging God. There is a story that screams when someone you really love changes their mind. ‘How does love change!’ Do you guys change your love? Brothers and sisters who have loved this and that love a lot will know the answer to this question. what? Love changes. You will soon get bored and soon become annoyed. But love is when you have a love that does not change, you will experience true love. Such a change in love can lead to a love that cannot be given at all. And you will get amazing fruits like you. Did you know that you are the fruit of unchanging love?
Main subject
What is the filling of the Holy Spirit? Believing that love does not change and possessing that amazing love is to become a person.
A person who meets God and discovers his life and his cross begins to love.
Running long distances and spending all day in service is not a difficult task for us to do in our daily lives. Without grace, these things become really difficult.
Some of the people who work in the church are annoyed and displeased with their work because they lack the grace of being filled with the Holy Spirit.
Dear young people! If church life is boring and boring, please measure your grace index. So, I hope you will yearn for unchanging love and the filling of the Holy Spirit.
So, what is the state of being filled with the Holy Spirit? It's a bit strange to non-believers. ‘It’s okay for nothing.’ ‘I want to help out for nothing’. ‘I want to say hello for nothing.’ ‘I am happy for nothing.’ ‘I like God for nothing.
However, if our lives are so enjoyable and exciting, there is something to be said for disparaging the fullness of the Holy Spirit as a bit of a bland state.
How will we be filled with the Holy Spirit?
Today's text shows the answer.
Romans 5:20 Where sin abounded, grace abounded. is saying
This phrase leads us to interpret, “If you sin a lot, grace abounds.” But that's not it.
This can be understood with a little understanding of sin.
The Bible describes sin as a personal being, like Satan the Devil. But on the other hand, you can also think rationally. Logically, sin is a kind of reflection on one's attitude or behavior in life. This shouldn't be a problem at all if you're not aware of it. In fact, it is not without problems, but a crisis among the crises that cause the biggest problems. The word crisis itself refers to a state that is both dangerous but also an opportunity. Until you realize this, there is no problem in living as a habit, but any act that destroys one's life is called a sin.
Today's verse tells us that grace abounds where we realize our sins.
So the law was given to us by God through Moses in order to make us aware of sin.
The common denominator of those who live a life full of grace is that they have always recognized more sins than others and acknowledged that they were sinners who could not do anything before God.
So was Paul, so was Peter, and so was David.
Paul called himself the chief among sinners, and when Peter heard Jesus' words and cast his net, what did he mean when he said that he caught a huge fish? By confessing, ‘I am a sinner,’ he shows us how sensitive he was to his sins. He is a person with a very strange personality. right.
David also had an affair as a king, so he was a man who wept so much that his bed rotted. It is that the king, who commands a nation, knelt down and said, “I am a sinner” at the words of a religious leader who is almost beggar with Nathan the prophet.
In order to know the grace of redemption, we must admit that I am a sinner and that I am truly lacking, ashamed, and obedient to God.
If he does not know that he is a sinner, or even if he does know that he is a sinner, if he does not know all of his sins, but only a little, he will never receive the blessing of a life full of grace.
Knowing the shape of our sin is preparing the basket of grace that God will pour out. When we know our problem, we can solve it, and it is filled only when we correct the error. No matter how much God's blessing is poured out in a life full of holes, it goes away.
Have you ever played Go?
You can't see it at all when you're playing Go, but when two other people play Go, you can clearly see why it's so stupid. Human beings are born to see the specks in other people's eyes, but rarely see the log in their own eyes.
the law of understanding grace
God has given us the law so that we can fully understand this grace. It is said that ‘the law entered into the law to increase crime’, but it does not mean that the number of crimes increased with the advent of the law, but rather that the number of things that could be called crimes increased with the creation of the law.
Therefore, we cannot be saved by the law, but as we strive to keep the law that God has given us, we will gradually come to realize how unrighteous sinners we are before God and men.
Then you will not be able to know the power and grace of the precious blood of Jesus Christ naturally, and you will have no choice but to live a life that is without grace. That is why God gave us the law.
Again, without the law, we would not be aware of our sins and that we were sinners. In that case, we will not be able to know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, but also the wonderful grace of God that our sins as red as scarlet have been forgiven.
Psalm 1, as we know it well, says, “Blessed is the man who delights in the law of the Lord, and meditates on it day and night.” We cannot keep all of God's laws, and keeping them does not mean we will be saved, but the laws are precious gifts and blessings that God has given us. Even if it is difficult and difficult to keep and live by it, we must love that law of God. You must always keep it in your heart and always strive to live according to the law.
Legalism, which falsely teaches that people must keep the law to gain salvation, is also a problem, but it is also a problem with false graciousism, which unconditionally rejects the law and emphasizes only grace without the law. We must not forget that there is no grace without the law.
The problem with Korean Christians these days is that they have faith but no ethics. We do not know how badly the unethical and immoral life of Christians is having a bad influence on missions. Christians do the same in the world and commit corruption. Even though he puts a fish mark on the back of his car to show that he is a Christian, he makes a traffic violation and throws tissues and garbage out of the car window casually. We are acting and living as if our faith and life are completely unrelated. It all stems from wrong graciousism.
It is because they are ignoring the law and longing for only cheap grace unconditionally.
conclusion
Dear young people of Shepherd!
I want to go back to the law. You must start your life of faith again from the law. What is the law? It is about worshiping well and keeping the promises made with God. It is to live so as not to be ashamed in the sight of God.
Only then will you be able to experience God's grace yourself and testify of God's grace to others. We need to re-establish God's law in our lives. You must meditate on that law day and night and make every effort to live by it. When that happens, we believe that God's grace will fully come into our lives according to God's ordained procedure.
In the name of the Lord, I bless you that you will live a life full of God's grace through observing God's laws well.
