The Israelites will soon enter the land of Canaan, which God has given them as a gift. When they enter Canaan, the Promised Land, they must lead a different life from that in the wilderness. The life Israel should live is also the life we should live today. What kind of life should we live?
1. Obey the Word (verse 1)
The people of Israel will live a new life in the land of Canaan, which they so longed for. But life there is different from life in the wilderness. The life God wants for the people of Israel is a life of obedience and dedication to God in all areas. The reason He wanted the people of Israel to live like this was to give them abundant blessings. When Israel lives in Canaan, they must obey the Word of God. We must listen to the ordinances and laws that God has given us and obey them throughout our lives. Then Israel's life will be enriched.
We too must listen to God's Word every moment. And you have to live by it. Then our lives will be enriched.
2. Remove idols (verse 2)
When Israel enters Canaan, there are things that must be done first. It is the complete elimination of idols and places of idolatry. In high mountains or low mountains or under green trees, you must tear down the altar, break the stone statues, set the Asherah poles on fire, and cut down the carved idols to completely remove all idols. This is a measure to prevent any possibility that the Israelites, who should only worship and serve God, might fall into the temptation to worship idols. God wants to completely eliminate the various forms of idols that are prevalent today. We must cast away all forms of idolatry other than God. We desire to live reverently before God, and we must remove all elements of sin with courage and determination. What idols do we have to forsake? Are you ready to throw it away?
3. Have a full worship service (verse 5)
The Israelites who worshiped God in Canaan should not worship Hananimul as they would to idols. Sacrifices and offerings should not be offered as you wish, but in the way God has given you. We must worship in the place God has appointed and offer the gift that has been set for us. Also, remembering the blessings God has given you, the whole family should worship with joy. The worship that God accepts is not the worship that man wants. We must give in the way God wants us to. That is true worship. Worship is a time of glorifying God and a time of joy at the same time. Are we providing the perfect worship that God desires now?
Christianity is a neo-capitalist religion where the will of God is at the center. Believers must do everything according to God's will and give up if it is not God's will. That is worship. As God's people, I hope that you will become believers who seek what God's will is and live a life that is worthy of His will.
<Prayer>
1. Help me to live a life worthy of the land of Canaan!
2. Let the church be the church and the home the home!
3. Please restore the weak fellows!
