lessons from horses
Think of the spirit of a horse running briskly across a wide field with just one step. No matter how great a person's spirit is, can they be compared to the dignity of a horse? So, since ancient times, horses have become one of the most irreplaceable weapons on the battlefield.
The spirit of these words is serving as a model for believers in many ways.
##### 1. Run strong
Verses 19 and 20 of the text...
The most striking thing about a horse's spirit is its brisk running. It is admirable to see them run steadily without getting tired even while running. The first thing we need to learn from the horse's spirit is 'to run vigorously'.
// Faith that pleases God
Faith is movement, not 靜. It's progress, not regression. It is a living faith that constantly challenges toward the desired reality. Faith is utter self-denial. Unless you thoroughly deny yourself, you cannot expect the almighty power of God. When you kill yourself, admit your lack, and realize that you are a sinner, you acknowledge the greatness and holiness of God. Faith is trust. In other words, believing without doubt.
The lame man who was healed in the name of Jesus of Nazareth at the beautiful gate of the temple got up from his seat and walked and ran. The Apostle Paul exhorted us to run upright to the end, like runners on a playground. The writer of Hebrews tells us to have our lame legs healed so that we can run on straight roads.
The prophet Isaiah said that even the boy will be weary and the man will fall and fall, but those who wait on the Lord will be refreshed and will not be weary.
The life of faith is a race to heaven. Therefore, like a horse that runs tirelessly, we must run all the way to the kingdom of heaven.
##### 2. Don't be afraid of enemies
Verses 21 and 22 of the text...
The horse never fears the enemy and never retreats from it. Only according to the master's instructions, they fight without fear of dying.
The saints who have been called by the Lord are soldiers of Christ. Joshua, who became the leader of Israel, received encouragement from God to “be strong and courageous, do not be afraid and do not be dismayed” (Joshua 1:9).
Judge Gideon was encouraged by God not to be afraid, and he led only 300 elite soldiers and defeated the Midianites more than a swarm of locusts (Judges 6:23-7:9-23).
The enemy of believers, the devil, is an army. However, if we are armed with the truth, there is nothing to be afraid of even those vile methods and scheming schemes. But if you step back, you will only get weaker and weaker. Therefore, we must never back down in fear of the enemy.
##### 3. We move only according to God's command
Verse 25...
The saying is that no matter how vibrating the heavens and the earth is covered in the battlefield, the commander's command is heard accurately and only moves according to the command.
In our spiritual warfare, it is important to jump into the enemy camp without fear and to fight to the end without retreating. However, moving only according to God's command is more important than anything else. Because the ultimate victory depends on whether you follow God's commands or not.
So Samuel gave advice to King Saul in 1 Samuel 15:22.
King Solomon also said in Ecclesiastes 5:1.
Therefore, we must first give priority to God's commands and listen to His words.
