Title Let's Create Hope (Jeremiah 32:6-15)
Content Let's make hope (Jeremiah 32:6-15)
Let's make hope / Jeremiah 32:6-15
The content of this text is an event that shows hope at the end of despair. When the Babylonians invaded and besieged Jerusalem, the capital of Judea, the prophet Jeremiah prophesied that the kingdom would be destroyed. But he was arrested and imprisoned by King Zigekiah, the king of Judea. Now that he is done, he makes an absurd request to buy his own field. Where in the world is this happening? But strangely, Jeremiah decided to buy a field. Why? It was because of hope. Of course, the country may become difficult and lost, but in his heart, 'our nation will surely be restored. And everything goes back to normal. Then there was a hopeful belief that the field would be very useful.' So, out of desperation, he decided to buy the land.
Dear saints, Isn't this kind of faith we need right now? If you look at Korea recently, the economic growth rate is 3.7% in the first half and 4% in the second half. Politically, the public opinion is divided due to the special prosecutor, tensions continue due to the North Korean nuclear issue, labor disputes have no end in sight, and credit card debt is the cause. With three million people suffering and unemployment rising, what hope is there for this country and society? Paradoxically, I think it is a time to have hope in times like these. Hopefully, like Jeremiah, let's create hope and sow the seeds of hope in this age when there is no way to see. So, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will become the protagonists of history that opens tomorrow with beautiful and abundant fruits.
1. You just need to listen to God's Word.
"Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD has come to me."
It is said that the word of God has now come to Jeremiah. That's right. He longed for the Word, and he was listening to it. He listened more to the word of God than to people or news, and then the word of God came to him. How did it sound? (Verse 7) "Look! Hanamel son of Shallum, your uncle, will come to you and say, Buy my field in Anathoth, for you have the right to own the inheritance." God said first to Jeremiah. He gave a warning, and after that, a voice was heard (verse 8).
"As the LORD said, Hanamel son of my uncle came to me in the courtyard of the guard and said, "I beg you, buy my field in Anathoth, in the land of Benjamin. You have an inheritance, and you have the right to bear, so buy it for you." . Because I knew that these were the words of the Lord." Yes, if you long for God's Word and cherish it, you can hear God's voice in people's words. God still speaks His words to those who long for and value His Word. He gives you the seeds of faith. It makes you do hopeful things. I pray in the name of the Lord that you will be able to open tomorrow through hopeful actions by listening to the Word of God coming down from above without looking at the problems you are facing.
2. You just need to pursue the benefit of the community, not the individual benefit.
3. All you have to do is look to tomorrow and pay the price.
You must have eyes that can see the bright future that is sure to come from beyond this reality. This is called a vision. This vision can help me get through the pain, problems, and crises I face today. So have a vision and a dream. However, in order to achieve the vision, I have to sacrifice what I have. Only then can your visions and dreams come true. That was the case with Jeremiah in the text. In order to create hope and promote propaganda, people paid the price of foolishness, self-sacrifice, and purchase of fields. This was Jeremiah's attitude toward realizing his vision. God fills the saints who can give up their own things first for the sake of His kingdom and righteousness even today with better things.
Ladies and gentlemen, the only way to solve the problems you are facing is only with God. Because he is the way. I pray that you will be able to hear the voices of God and make your dreams come true.
