The content of the text is 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
Since last year, whenever I have an opportunity, I have preached the word of God under the title, “The Spirit must live.” I preached three times in a series, and in connection with this, I delivered a sermon under the following titles. 'Overcome the unclean spirit', 'Restore the spiritual order', 'Become a child of the spirit', 'The spirit must be opened', 'Be a spiritual person with the filling of the Holy Spirit', 'The spirit lives only when prayer is opened. ', 'My spirit lives through the blood of Jesus.', 'The Word is the food of my spirit.', 'The ministry of the Spirit is precious.'
Recently, he preached the words of ‘Think of the Spirit’ (Romans 8:6). Today, I would like to deliver a special message to ‘discriminate the spirits’.
Ladies and gentlemen, the gift of discerning spirits comes to those who are living in spirit, to those who are filled with the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of God, where the Word of God becomes food for the soul and prayer becomes the breath of the soul.
Today’s text 1 Corinthians 12:10 records “discerning spirits” as a gift from the Holy Spirit.
Dear brothers and sisters, we must discern spirits. In the last days, the devil disguises himself as an angel of light, and at times like a roaring lion, he searches for someone to devour. But the problem is that the devil says, “I am the devil.” Rather than promulgating it and writing it in an easy-to-understand manner, rather than attaching it and carrying it around, it works cunningly like a wolf in sheepskin, causing Christians today to be shaken by heresy like Shincheonji and the church to suffer. This is because there is no ability to discern spirits.
Spirits work in many different ways. Therefore, the Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 6:10-12 to “oppose the schemes of the devil”. To resist, we must first know about the spirits that approach us. Among the approaching spirits are unprofitable spirits and beneficial spirits. In other words, there are spirits that approach us to benefit us, and useless, evil spirits, and unclean spirits that approach us and destroy us. would like to
There are the devil that the representative spirit must oppose, the spirit of antichrist who must be discerned by the spirit that belongs to him, and the spirits of delusion that must be guarded against.
First, it is the devil (James 4:7) as the object to be opposed.
The second is the spirit of the antichrist (1 John 4:3) that we must discern.
The Gnostics who deny that the Word became flesh, the doctrines that either ignored the merits of the cross or denied the resurrection of Christ and corrupted the salvation of Christians, and those who seem to acknowledge but deny Jesus Christ (Unification Church) and Lee Man-hee (Shincheonji) must be able to distinguish.
The third is the spirit of delusion (Matt. 24:5, 1 Tim. 4:1) that we must be wary of and cut off.
The Bible clearly tells us to ‘be on guard’. In Matthew 24:5, “many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” 1 Timothy 4:1 “The Spirit clearly says that in the latter days some will turn from the faith and lead astray. We will obey the teachings of spirits and demons”, 1 John 4:6 says, “We are of God… He who does not belong to God does not listen to us, and by this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of delusion.”
In Matthew 24:4-28, “Jesus answered and said to them, “Be careful not to be deceived by anyone, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many… "Behold, if you say that Christ is here or there, do not believe it, for false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, if possible, to deceive even the elect..." They are deceived by Christ, and they are deceived by the worldly things that are difficult to quit such as tobacco, alcohol, cheating, games, and entertainment, making it difficult to live a religious life.
