Subject: Let's find the title of thanks
Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Today, on Thanksgiving Day, I want to ask you a question.
When you look back on your life, are you generally grateful? Or did you usually live a life of complaining?
Or when you look back on 2002 this year, did you get a lot of 'Thank you!' Or did you get a lot of complaints like, 'Why are you doing this?'
And when was the most grateful moment in your life and when was the most resentful moment?
And if you express your gratitude, whom do you want to impersonate, and if you complain, whom do you want to impersonate?
And what were the subjects of thanks and what were the subjects of complaints?
For our church, 2002 is not over yet, but I think it was a year to be more grateful than other years. And I want to spend the year 2002, which is less than three months away, with gratitude.
In my case, after I was discharged from the army, I could share my life around the age of 26, when I heard the voice of God and received the Holy Spirit. Before the age of 26, life was generally a life of complaining, but life after age 26 was generally a life of gratitude.
The most grateful moment in my life was when I was 26 years old when I heard the voice of God's promise, and the most resentful moment was when it happened at that moment. Most of them don't want to tell anyone about such resentment, don't want to remember it, and want it to never happen again.
And in the case of me, if I express my gratitude to a special person, no matter how cold it rains or snows, I want to say 'Thank you!' I would like to say 'Thank you!' to all the saints who know, obey, and follow as servants of Christ.
Also, I would like to express my gratitude to my parents, who poured out their love and hard work for me, and my mother, who is still sacrificing for me.
Of course, the person who receives the most confession of thanks in my life is also God.
I too once complained to God, "God, why are you doing this?" and said, "God, if you have an ear, listen and if you have a mouth, tell me. Why is this happening to me? This is not at all wrong with God's promise. Isn't it? Does God also deceive you when you are in need?" And when he looked at God with resentment, and no matter how much he shouted, God's answer was not heard, and the problem was not resolved, he often complained and groaned secretly at God's indifference.
But, again, God is the one who will receive the most gratitude in my life, and I cannot express his gratitude in human words on this earth, so I must go up to heaven and confess my gratitude in the language of heaven forever. I think.
And since I have to confess my gratitude for eternity, I can't even imagine how many titles of thanks there are. Of course, even if you find the subject of complaint and say it, you can make it last forever, but aren't those of us who believe in God who strongly desire to live by professing our gratitude for all eternity if at all possible?
Today, on Thanksgiving Day, we want to make God's heart greatly rejoice by finding a specific subject of thanks and confessing our thanks to God.
Whether in Korea or here in Canada, when I go to the hospital and visit the hospital, I can't help but thank God again.
Ladies and gentlemen, how great is the suffering caused by disease among human suffering? Seeing so many patients and feeling the pain they are going through, I say, "God, I am still healthier than them, so thank you for allowing me to visit the hospital like this." and make a confession. And I am thankful to God for giving me health so that I can still move like this.
Not long ago, I heard a Korean singer named Gil Eun-jung making this confession.
He was diagnosed with rectal cancer and received treatment, but he has been wearing an artificial anus until now.
However, I can't do my job in the bathroom properly, so I go to the hospital once every three days to remove feces. And his story says that he is very grateful and should be thankful for taking care of the bathroom well.
Of course, Christians can also become ill and suffer because of the disease. However, we should rather remember and be thankful that there are people who suffer more from a bigger disease than we do.
And one thing to be thankful for is that we must firmly believe and be thankful that God has protected me and my family during this time, healed me when I was sick, and that God will heal me if I get sick in the future.
And I should be thankful for remembering that Jesus himself was whipped to heal me. The Bible clearly says, "By his wounds you were healed" (1 Peter 2:24).
And we cannot help but thank God for food, drink, clothing, and shelter.
Today, people who have not experienced much difficulty with food, clothing and shelter, or young children, may say, "What is something to be grateful for? Don't other people have all these things?"
But lift your eyes and see the world.
There are still too many people in the world starving because of lack of food. And there are still many people who are born on the street, live on the street, and die on the street because there is still no place for them to live. I am truly grateful to God that I have something to eat today, and a place to rest and sleep, compared to their situation.
Psalm 136:25 says: "Give thanks to him who gave food to all flesh."
In 1 Corinthians 15:57 the Apostle Paul said: "Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
In other words, we can overcome sin and the world, and overcome death and Satan because we have the precious faith that Jesus gave us. Without faith, I would not be able to overcome the world, and I would have to live a very sad and painful life. But thanks to your precious faith, I am truly grateful and grateful that you have allowed me to live in heavenly joy, peace and happiness in a painful world.
And through his precious faith, he overcame hell and judgment, went to heaven, inherited God's inheritance, and made it possible to reign and live forever. It is something to be thankful for.
The Bible prophesies that one of the characteristics of the last days is not giving thanks (2 Timothy 3:2).
In 1 Timothy 1:12-13, the Apostle Paul confessed, ?쏧 thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because he had compassion on me, who was formerly a blasphemer, persecutor, and murderer, and entrusted me with a noble ministry.??
And in 2 Corinthians 9:15, the apostle Paul confesses, "I give thanks to God for his unspeakable gift." In other words, he is grateful because God has given him countless gifts.
The Bible says this in today's text:
"In everything give thanks, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
?쏷here is no need for filthiness, foolish speech, or slanderous words; turn and give thanks??(Ephesians 5:4).
?쏧 will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart??(Psalm 138:1).
?쏧 will rise in the night to give thanks??(Psalm 119:62).
?쏻e will give thanks to your name forever??(Psalm 44:8).
?쏣nter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; give thanks to him??(Psalm 100:4).
Everyone, the kingdom of heaven is a place to enter with thanksgiving, and the church, which is a branch of the kingdom of heaven, is also a place where you can worship God with thanksgiving.
Today, as we celebrate Thanksgiving, here and there, wherever we are, we give thanks for everything, so we pray that you will continue to accomplish God's will.
Everyone, no matter how great ordeal comes to you, if you look closely, there are many things to be thankful for.
Why don't you find the subject of thanks and confess it to God today?
When you see a candle and give thanks, God gives you a light, when you see a light and give thanks, He gives you moonlight, when you see the moon and give thanks, He gives you sunlight, and when you see and give thanks to you, a candle, a light, a moon, and sunlight gives you And I hope that you and I will be in the place of receiving such a heaven. Amen !
