Let's hope for tomorrow (Matthew 19:13-15) 2001.05.06.
I need attention and love
There was a man who was a diplomat, and he was always out of business, so he traveled a lot abroad and was too busy with everything, so he didn't pay much attention to his family and children. One day, when it was a long-awaited holiday, he thought, 'Today, I'll take a nap or take a good night's rest and read a book that I've been putting off.' I thought to myself, and his wife said, "Don't do that, just chill with your children." I'm going to do it all over again. So, out of necessity, I went fishing with my children. The children loved it and had a lot of fun running around. When they got home, the diplomat wrote in his diary that day: 'Today I went fishing with my children. But I wasted a precious day.' But one of his sons grew up to be a historian, and as he looked back on his childhood, he looked at an old diary. In the old diary, this son wrote: 'Today I went fishing with my father. It was the happiest and happiest day of my life.' How is it? Which one are you?
Now, I introduce an article written by a father who was introduced in a certain daily newspaper. "Gyeongjin, who is in 6th grade in elementary school, suggested we move here because there are a lot of 'thugs' here. But we decided to make the school better than that, and I became the only father representative of the parents' association. After a while, this time, Anjin, a sophomore in elementary school. The lice came from school, and I met the child who beat me with my homeroom teacher. "The most precious thing in the world is a person. How angry would your mother be if you tossed your mother's jewelry ring?" Jini Ahn and Jini Kyung took the child to the hamburger house and started making friends, and then went back to the park and rolled around like brothers. When they parted, the child presented a doll stained with his own hands to Jini Ahn. I needed love and friends. I went through this and I was grateful to be a Christian because Jesus visited me full of hypocrisy and narcissism and gave me love and became a friend. And that love spreads to my child and to the child I beat. there will be."
If Christians do not see others through hypocrisy and self-love, if adults do not see and understand the thoughts and thoughts of children and young people, and their culture, world and life because of their own experiences and prejudices, the future of the church cannot be hoped for. there is no
The famous American educational theologian John Westin Hope III asked, "Will our children have faith?" I wrote a book called "Is it possible to inherit the faith to the next generation?", which was translated into the title "Education of the Church in the Church" and a subtitle was placed under the title. I put it like this. We talk a lot about the next generation now, and a lot of talk about how we must prepare for the new century. What do you really need to be prepared for?
Aren't you worried about whether you're keeping it properly on Sunday or not? We must be prepared for the next generation, whether personally or ecclesiastical, and if we are not prepared for the next generation, we will be more anxious.
There is hope only when we embrace the next generation of the gospel
There are several things that stand out in Jesus' ministry. When Jesus came to this earth, He did many things, one of which had to do with children and the other with women. These two groups, children and women, were representative of the underprivileged. At the time of Jesus, it was common not only to Judea, but also to all countries in the East and the world. In the old days, children and women were marginalized. Although the United States seemed like a very women-oriented country, it did not give women the right to vote in the first place. So, women were demonstrating for the right to vote. America is a country of freedom, but it does not give black people the right to vote. It wasn't until the 1960s that they gave the right to vote.
Children and women have always been marginalized in this world, but Jesus did not do that. There are Plato and Aristotle, whom we call famous philosophers, and even people like Aristotle said, "Women are a little better than beasts." Even in the Bible, it was not even included in the number. However, the Lord recognizes them as precious statuses for the kingdom of God. Then he says, "For such is the kingdom of heaven." Well, this is a great revolutionary change. This is what leads to the amazing work of the gospel for the next generation.
The church today also has hope when it embraces the next generation of the gospel. Then how can we prepare for our future by embracing the next generation?
In today's Bible verse, when the children came to Jesus, the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, ?쏤orgive.??What does it mean to embrace the next generation? The Lord tells us to forgive. Acceptance has several meanings. It means to accept, to accept. However, this means taking it personally and actively. The Lord tells us to accept the next generation, to recognize them as God's image, and to respect their values as they are.
Neither child nor young man is the same in the essence of this creation, created in the image of God. We tend to mistake people for different dignity and personality according to their possessions, authority, and rank. So people want special treatment.
the value of life is precious
When people are in a high position, more than anyone else, they think that their life is different from other lives and that their personality is different from other personalities. Everyone should think that good is the same in life, character and dignity. We must be able to acknowledge this. The life of a child or an adult is the same. The right to life, the right to live, and the value of life are precious. That is why we are telling you to accept and tolerate the next generation well. It is to acknowledge their personalities as loved ones of God and citizens of heaven. In particular, acknowledging the qualifications, values, and authority of the next growing generation is called acceptance. This young generation has the potential to fail. There is a risk of frustration. There are many possibilities of crisis in one's life. Still, it is to acknowledge their qualifications, authority, and values.
someone who believes in himself
Educational psychology tells us that a child should have at least one person who believes in him or her. For the younger generation, for the growing generation, there must be someone who can trust and build someone up. This gives them great strength.
In the presence of Jesus Christ, children, adults, old people, lepers and blind people were all tolerated, and no robbers or demon-possessed people were ignored. That is, today's church must be able to embrace the next generation without ignoring it like this. Our younger generation is sometimes really mad at you and I to look after you. But you don't have to ignore them. The young people who come to this church today, whether they have yellow, red, short or long hair, we should all be able to embrace them.
And it has to be acceptable. The Lord also tells us not to forbid to embrace the next generation. If we tolerate, there will be no prohibition. But what are you telling me not to do today? Now people come to Jesus with their little ones. They come to Jesus to pray. But the disciples forbid. Jesus tells his disciples not to forbid what they forbid. In other words, don't forbid children and future generations about what we can do. There are many things we can do for the next generation. This is not forbidden. It can do a lot for you. You cannot stop praying. It's about doing everything you can for them. Do not forbid what you must do. Exactly what does this mean? It teaches us how humans exist and how to survive for something worthwhile.
What is that specific thing? In today's text, it is about drawing closer to the Lord. It is a matter of waiting for the Lord. That is, do not forbid this act of concern for divinity and concern for spirituality. No matter how you sing, if you sing a hymn, do not forbid it. Whatever you do, if you pray, do not forbid it. Whatever it is, do not forbid them to have a vision before God. Children like children, adults like adults, young people like young people, and old people like old people.
Where will they go if they don't acknowledge the reason for their existence? There is no choice but to go somewhere else. We don't need to forbid them if they want to come close to God, praise the Lord, touch their souls in the Lord's hand, if it's not sinning. That's what it means to not ignore the vision and identity of the next generation.
But it is said that in this they learn to forbid at the same time. If we do not forbid, they will learn to forbid themselves. This is because you control it with your own rigor rather than your freedom of faith. In fact, it is not controlled by faith, but by the strictness of the older generation. This is not a standard. It is forbidden because they have their own standards that have already been hardened and institutionalized.
The Lord removed that standard. The Lord breaks that standard and speaks of the kingdom of God. Considering the infinity of the kingdom of God, do not forbid it with your own rigor, orthodoxy, and character. Ladies and gentlemen, if the existing generation of today's church continues to forbid it with self-centered standards and frameworks, the next generation will have no hope.
So what will happen? This earth will not be the kingdom of God, but the kingdom of hypocrisy and lies. So what we can do is not forbid it. And finally, from a more religious standpoint, what is the more active aspect of embracing the next generation?
In today's sermon, "The Lord laid his hands on us... ' This is how I testified. We must tolerate it. should not be forbidden. However, the active form of faith that truly embraces them is to embrace them, pray and bless them. The patriarchs of the Old Testament blessed their children one by one. It's about embracing future generations. Abraham had Isaac. Isaac embraced Jacob. Jacob embraced Joseph. Joseph had brothers. Praying here doesn't mean just praying for good things to happen and to get ahead.
At least this means that praying to embrace the next generation entrusts them to God. To entrust it to God is to realize that "there is absolute power beyond you." It gives courage, faith, and encouragement for the future. Because there is a future tomorrow, we can be at peace today and do our best. In other words, this is to correct the present moment. This is to teach that the present should be right and clear because Almighty God exists and there is my future. Everyone, this is a blessing.
The reason we pray and bless the next generation today is not because we do what we want. It's because it doesn't. Are your children going to like me? no. That is why it is a blessing to pray and embrace them with faith.
