Title: Let's live a blessed life towards eternity. Text: Judges 2:6-10
Those who have hope in heaven do not live their lives in vain. We are people with hope in heaven. We are God's people. As children of God, we are called to be citizens of the kingdom of heaven. Saints! What do you call a product made in Korea? It is called ‘made in Korea’. So what are saints? We are ‘made in God’. This 'made in God' is a person who is created by God, lives for God according to God's word, and goes to God. In today's text, Joshua and Moses shared many difficulties and sufferings while walking in the wilderness. The time has come to end a life that has never been smooth. He knew that his physical life had come to an end and death was approaching. Nevertheless, Joshua did his best until the last moment to fulfill his mission, and did not neglect his mission at all. Num 32:12 Now we should think about how we will end our lives as Christians who, like Joshua, go to eternity. The beginning is important, but the ending of life is also very important. You must end your life like a Christian.
1. Joshua lived a life of fulfilling his mission to the end.
Judges 2:6 “Before” here refers to before Joshua’s death. Joshua, who was about to die at that time, called the people to Shechem, renewed the covenant, and gave ordinances and ordinances. Then he made the people go back to their respective inheritances. This is Joshua's mission. Joshua's mission is not to end with leading the Israelites to Canaan, but to teach and instruct them so that they can serve God well, do their best in their respective businesses, and live by the law of God. In this way, Joshua tried to establish the great task of conquering Canaan and the lives of the people in the Word of God right up until his death. Joshua did not stop working for God just because he was old. Despite his 110-year-old age, he did his best for the work God had entrusted to him to the end. did not rest. Until the last moment, he carried out this mission he had received from God to the best of his ability. There is a saying. There is a saying that ‘small men are loyal only to big and special things, great men are loyal to ordinary things, and believers are greatly loyal to small things’.
2. Joshua lived with experiential faith.
3. Joshua lived solely on God's property.
4. Joshua had one failure.
In the text of Judges 2:10, ‘the people of that generation’ are also spoken of, which refers to the people of Joshua’s time who experienced God’s work. And the ‘other generation’ refers to the generation born in Canaan. These are people who have never experienced the Exodus. Those who have never experienced the wilderness. These are the generations who have not experienced the Jordan River crossing. But they said, “They did not know the Lord.” This is Joshua's failure. There is no fault in other things, but the next generation could not be properly established with the Word. The first is that we have failed to raise leaders who will lead the next generation. The second is that the descendants of the next generation could not be trained in the Word. They had not been able to train their descendants who would lead the kingdom of God with the Word.
