Title Let's Meet God! (Jeremiah 29:10-14)
What is the greatest wish of us believers? If you ask me, you are meeting God. Who is God? I want to hear his voice, I want to see his smile, and I want to see his kind face. Moses was a man who believed and acted after receiving the power of God, but he prayed to see the reality of God. “Moses said, I pray you, show me your glory.” (Exodus 33:18) To Moses who asked so earnestly, God only showed a glimpse of his back. Why can't we see God with our own eyes? Because you are a sinner. But in today's verse, God says that He will allow us to meet Him. “If you seek and seek me with all your heart, you will find me. I, the LORD, say I will find you” (Jeremiah 29:13-14). To meet God here is to see God indirectly, not with the naked eye. This is called So, what are the revelations?
1. We can meet through creation.
If we have the belief that everything in this universe is God's creation, we can meet God through it. This is called “From the creation of the world his invisible things, even his eternal power and divinity, have been clearly seen and understood by the things that have been made; therefore, they are without excuse” (Romans 1:20). must be able to meet God. Not only a single piece of grass, a flower, or a single insect, but the sun, moon, cosmic celestial bodies, and the operation of the universe itself prove the existence of God and we must believe that God exists in it.
2. You can meet God through the cross.
God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, into the world to save mankind, and Jesus shed His blood as a sacrifice on the altar of the cross as His own body. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) The cross is a means of showing God's love, showing the will of man's salvation, and showing the existence of God.
3. You can meet God through the Bible.
God is the Word itself. God reveals Himself through His Word, introduces Himself through His Word, and explains who He is through His Word.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfected for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
4. You can meet God through the Holy Spirit.
“But God has revealed these things to us by the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:10) The Holy Spirit came upon the disciples as they prayed earnestly in Mark's upper room. To hear the sound of wind means that the ears of the spirit are opened, and to see fire means that the eyes of the spirit are opened. And the mouth of the Spirit was opened. This explains how the early church members met God through the Holy Spirit. In other words, because they became convinced of God through the Holy Spirit, they risked their lives to go out into the world and do missionary work.
