Title Let it be a spring of water
Let it be a fountain
Text/ Isaiah 58:11, Jeremiah 2:13
1. Introduction
At this time, let's sing hymn 526 (Those who thirst) together while thinking about the meaning (I really like this hymn. How cool and cool!). Today, I would like to share grace while meditating on the Word under the theme of “Make it a spring of water.” The following are the words of water-spring water-well-nae-spring-brook-river that appear in the Bible.
2. Water-spring-water-well-nae-spring-brook-river
* The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life (Proverbs 14:27).
*The fountain of wisdom is like a flowing stream (Proverbs 18:4).
*He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; all its events prosper (Psalm 1:3).
*Thou shalt drink from the river of thy pleasures; for thou art the fountain of life, and in thy light we shall see light (Psalm 36:8-9).
* As the deer longs for streams, so my soul thirsts for you, O God (Psalm 42:1).
* You take care of the earth, you water it, you make it very rich, you fill the rivers of God with water...and you soften it with the rain, and you bless its sprouts (Psalm 65:9-10)
*He turned the rock into a pool, and stones into springs of water (Psalm 114:8) *You are a spring of gardens, a well of living water, a stream flowing out of Lebanon (Song 4:15).
*At that time waters will spring up out of the wilderness, and streams will flow out of the desert (Isaiah 35:1-10).
* I will make rivers in the bare mountains, and springs in the midst of the valleys, I will make the wilderness a pool, and the dry land springs of water (Isaiah 41:18).
*The Lord will always guide you, satisfy your soul in a dry place, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, like a fountain that never runs out of water (Isaiah 58:11).
*My people have done two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living water, and have dug themselves a cistern, which is a broken cistern that cannot hold water (Jeremiah 2:13).
*Blessed is he who trusts in the Lord and trusts in the Lord. A tree planted by the waters spreads its roots by the river. He is not afraid when the heat comes; his leaves are green; It will never cease (Jeremiah 17:7-8).
* The vision the prophet Ezekiel saw, where the water flowing from the eastern threshold of the temple formed a great river (Ezekiel 47:1-12)
*In that day a fountain of sin and defilement will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem (Zechariah 13:1).
* Whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never thirst. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water springing up to eternal life (John 4:14).
*On the last day of the feast, on the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scripture says, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water." (John 7:37-38)
*I will give them freely from the spring of the water of life to those who are thirsty (Rev 21:6) *The river of the water of life flowing in the kingdom of heaven (Rev 22:1-2), etc.
3. “Let it be a spring of water”
first. I myself must first drink abundantly of the physical-spiritual spring so that my body and soul are healthy. Because water is life. Water is life in the biological sense, and it is also life in the spiritual sense. The human body can live for 40 days without food, but it is difficult to survive even a single day without water. Even a human soul cannot live a healthy, whole-normal-human life without the Word of God. Therefore, “Behold, the days are coming, saith the Sovereign Lord, that I will send a famine upon the land, not a hunger for bread, nor a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the word of the Lord (Amos 8:11-14). is a fountain of life” (Proverbs 14:27).
Humans feel thirsty in the body and seek water to drink. However, in order to quench the thirst of the soul, which is manifested in loneliness-anxiety-emptiness-complaint-distress-defilement-fear-anger-inferiority-alienation, etc., many people seek to quench the thirst of the soul, not the word of God, but the puddle the world has dug (television-sports-drugs-alcohol). -I try to find it in decadent culture-entertainment-gambling, etc.). But it's the wrong number. Jeremiah called it “a broken cistern that cannot hold water” (Jeremiah 2:13).
Quietly look into your own inner person. Do you feel your soul thirsty? Then, right now, we must go to the spring (Word of God-Church-Prayer closet) where the word of God springs up. One of the most convincing health secrets these days is “drinking 8 glasses of good water a day”. If so, I think “drinking 8 chapters of God’s Word a day” is also a good thing as the secret to the health of the soul.
second. I have to let the fountain of souls I drink (words-good news-inspired stories, etc.) flow to my family, relatives, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. I am sharing the words of grace I have received through speech-letter-e-mail-homepage-club club cafe.
A good word on the subway, atmospheric restaurant, or bathroom wall says, “Aha, yes, that’s right!” You will have an experience that will inspire you and give you courage. We must remember that if we directly share the grace we have received with those we are close to, we can have an even greater impact. Never, never take it lightly.
third. Human words have a powerful force that moves people. That is “the power of words.” Human words are like that, but how much more are they the words of God? Therefore, the writer of Hebrews writes, “The word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12)”.
Lord, make it a spring of water!
