Let the river of grace flow (Ezekiel 47:1-12)
Today's text is a record of how the prophet Ezekiel, who was captured in Babylon, was led by the Spirit and had a vision. He saw that water was flowing from under the threshold of the temple of God, flowing to the husband of the altar, and flowing through the outer gate.
We measure the place where this water flows, and as it flows, it gets deeper and deeper, first at the ankle, then at the knee. Then it was filled up to the waist, and later it was large, and it became a great river that could swim and that no one could cross.
I hope that the river of grace will overflow our church through these words.
1. The river of grace begins in the temple (verse 1)
The work of the gospel, the work of grace, and the work of life only start from the place where God is, the temple of the Lord, and the holy sanctuary. In other words, all grace comes from God. Therefore, in order to enjoy God's grace, we must do our best to go out in front of the sanctuary of the holy temple to have fellowship with God. Because this is where grace comes from. We must not be treaders of the yard outside the temple. The faith growth of each of us always begins with the grace of God in the sanctuary.
2. The river of grace gets deeper as it flows ((verses 3-5)
The grace that God gives does not get weaker, but grows more and stronger, richer, and deeper. Because God is living and working.
Here, the measuring line measuring the river means the word of God, which is the spiritual standard. As we measure our faith with the Word of God, we must deepen it more and more. How deep is your faith? Let's not be content in shallow places. Let's long for and enjoy the deeper and wider grace. As the years go by, I pray that the saints will enter the deeper river of grace.
3. When the river of grace flows, everything is restored (6-12).
Where the rivers of God's grace flow, amazing changes take place. The wasteland turns into fertile soil, and wherever the river flows, living things live and fish are abundant, fishermen stand and the dead sea becomes a living sea. Along the river, abundant fruit is produced in every season. When the river of grace flows in the heart of the saint, it changes the desert-like environment and the sea of death.
Be the channel through which the river of grace flows. It brings to life dead souls, dead families, dead churches, and dead societies.
4. If the river of grace does not flow, it becomes a land of salt (verse 11).
This verse is difficult to interpret, but it can be interpreted that places where water remains stationary, such as ponds, swamps, and marshes, will not burn and become dead salt land. One-time grace, faith that waits for you, rots.
You should not be satisfied with the fact that you have received grace once. The river of grace must always flow and overflow in the hearts of the saints. The anointing of the Holy Spirit comes on us every day and we must live a witnessed life.
I pray that the river of grace overflows to all of our beloved saints and that our lives will be powerful enough to change our homes, our workplaces, our neighbors, our country, our nation, and even the nations.
