Title Life After Salvation

Hymn: 390 (New Hymn 352) 'Soldiers of the Cross'
Meditation: It is different for people of faith to be saved and to live like those who have been saved. The grace of redemption is great and we are grateful, but it is not easy to live differently as those who have received grace. One important problem remains for those who have accepted the gospel. It is, 'How should I live now?'
Confession of Faith: Apostles' Creed
main text: '… In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:1-11).
In the text, Paul points out to those who do not change their lives even after salvation.
“It cannot be, how shall we, who are dead to sin, live any longer in them” (verse 2).
If you can't, what could be the reason? Paul is saying that because we are dead to sin. The first step to living a beautiful life as a Christian is clear. It starts with realizing that the saints themselves are dead to sin.
The Bible speaks of baptism in union with Christ on a concrete spiritual basis. Baptism signifies death to sin and the burial of all ungodly desires. That we are already dead to sin is the present dwelling place of the saints. To meet Jesus Christ is to leave the 'past me'. Past sins, old habits, and values must die.
A healthy Christian whose salvation and life are in balance should not stop here. Now we have to live differently than we did in the past. To impartiality and to God, we must be considered alive.
“In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus” (verse 11).
Now Jesus Christ is Lord. Therefore, we must be sensitive to the commands of the Lord, the Lord. This kind of life requires training. Do not obey the desires of the flesh, but obey the Spirit sensitively. Instead of living a passive life that only defends against sin, we must actively engage in the work of God. The best defense is to attack. Humans sin and excuse themselves by saying, 'I am weak'. But God says, 'You have chosen.'
Prayer: God! May this day also be a day of victory by responding sensitively to God's word and living a life of obedience. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
