Members of the session, who have to undertake such an important ministry, must not be negligent in constantly praying to God and fully sacrificing and devoting themselves for the kingdom of God in order to fulfill this mission.
It was God who was surprised by the elder's guileless demonstration. My beloved son, the elder, who was also one of the church members' representatives, prepared himself for his death and set up a seat under the pedestal. How could God, who was just about to make the rain, not change his plan? Also, it did not rain that night, and the pillar did not collapse, so there was nothing wrong with the elder's life. All the members of the church say that it was purely because of the elder's demonstration that God did not send rain. This elder was a beautiful servant who gave his life as a living sacrifice for the church. Hallelujah!!
In addition, we must be a model of faith for all the saints and a leader who takes precedence over the saints in every way. Elders must mature in their faith more than any other member of the church, look back on all members with love, reflect on their faith, and guide the members to lead a correct life of faith.
3What the Church Should Do for Session Members
It is impossible to carry out such an important ministry only with the strength of the members of the session. This work will be perfected when all the members of the church fervently cooperate. Therefore, the saints should constantly pray, encourage, and work together for the members of the session.

The word God has given us today records what happened when Israel was attacked by the Amalekites. When Israel came to a place called Rephidim, the Amalekites, a band of desert thieves, attacked the Israelites. At this time, Israel helped the leader Moses, and all the people worked together to defeat the enemy and achieve a great victory.
Israel in the text symbolizes the church, a community of faith that believes in God. And Amalek means the work of Satan to attack the church and the saints. And the people of Israel are a group of saints, Joshua Hur and Aaron are members of the session, and Moses is the leader of the session.
According to the text, when Israel was facing dire afflictions and adversity, the people of Israel consistently obeyed the command of their leader Moses, became one, and performed their duties well. Joshua led the people boldly toward the enemy camp, and the Israelites followed Moses' command and boldly went to the battlefield. A church that is united in this way has powerful power and can enjoy a dangerous victory. Hallelujah!!
5. The three people who climbed the mountain
Now the fierce battle has begun. However, the outcome of the war was very unfavorable to Israel. Israel has been a poor people for a long time and was not able to fight. However, the Amalekites are a people who have been trained in the desert and a people who have been trained by fierce battles.
As time goes on, the fight becomes more and more difficult. At this time, Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the mountain overlooking the battlefield and began to pray to God for victory in the battle.
6. Mission of our members
In this text, the Lord is telling us about the important mission that our session members must do. Just as Moses climbs a mountain with deep interest in the victory of war, and Aaron and Hur go up the mountain with him, the session member should have a deep interest in and responsibility for the growth and development of the church by helping the session president. So, in any case, I must become a member of the session who cooperates with the moderator and sacrifices myself for the church.
