Title Lord's Day (Rev 01:9-10)

Contents The day of the Lord has two meanings in the Bible. One is the day of the Lord's Second Coming. Isaiah 13:6 and Jeremiah 46:10 say it is the day of the Lord.

Philippians 1:10 refers to the day of Christ, and 2 Corinthians 1:14 refers to the day of Jesus. That day will come when the kingdoms of the world will become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever (Revelation 11:15).

Also the day of wrath in Romans 2:5. The Day of Judgment in Matthew 10:15. The great day of Jude 6. And it will be the day mentioned in Matthew 7:22 and so on.

The Lord's Day is the day when God reveals Himself for the consummation of judgment and salvation. It is the day when Christ fully realizes the kingdom of God. It will be a day of eternal glory for the Lord's people, but it will also be a day of eternal destruction for those who have rejected and distrusted the Lord.

The second is the Lord's Day mentioned in the text. This is the day the Lord was resurrected. It is the first day of the seven days (Matthew 28:1).

Today, Saturday is the Sabbath. Judaism worshiped God on the Sabbath. The custom of the Jews continued for a long time even after the early church was established. Because of this habit, I also kept the Sabbath and the Lord's Day together.

In the latter days of the early church, the notion of the Sabbath disappears. Only the Lord's Day is celebrated by Christians. On the Lord's Day, the saints broke bread together at the Lord's table while worshiping the Lord (Acts 20:11). They even gave the yearbook they had prepared (1 Corinthians 16:2).

The law was fulfilled by the perfect love of the Lord. We are no longer bound by the Old Testament. The Lord abolished the law in His body.

Sabbathists, who constantly strive to return to Old Testament law, claim that the day Christians must observe is the Sabbath. Even Christians say that the Lord's Day is a change of the Sabbath.

It gets tiring. It is sad that denominations are created according to the interpretation of people who are ignorant and unfounded in the Bible.

The Lord's Day is not a changed Sabbath. The Sabbath law is not in effect now. It is also wrong to consider the Lord's Day as the Sabbath as a holy water Sunday.

The Lord's Day is now Sunday. It is also wrong to set the celebration of the Lord's Day as an idolatry of sun worship by saying that Sunday is the day of the sun in the Roman calendar.

To believe without knowing is foolishness. Blind faith is pitiful. But, among Korean Christians, how many people know and believe on what basis the Lord's Day should be observed?

Without even knowing the origin of the Lord's Day, I diligently pursue the church every Sunday. I know that the Lord's Day is just a day to go to church and worship. So, I diligently step on the threshold of the chapel. This is not true faith.

It is often called Sunday. Bad language habits. The contamination of the language that Christians defile must be purified as soon as possible. In particular, the reckless language of the leaders is even disgusting. It is the day of the Lord according to the scriptures

and must.

Who is the headstone? 1 Peter 2:5, 6 says that Jesus is the head of the spiritual house. The headstone was the stone rejected by the builders as prophesied in the Bible.

The spiritual house is a spiritual temple. The spiritual temple is the body of the Lord Church. The Lord has become the headstone of that church. All saints must build their spiritual house on this foundation, on which the Lord is the headstone.

When did the Lord become the headstone? According to the Gospels, when the Sabbath was over and the first day after the Sabbath was coming, some women who followed the Lord robbed them of their possessions, prepared spices for the body of the Lord, and went to the tomb.

By the time they reached the tomb, it was already dawn and the sun was rising. Dawn in Palestine is short. Please bear in mind that sunrise is earlier.

The disciples of the Lord will soon follow. When the first party arrived at the tomb, they found that the tomb was already empty. The body of the Lord was not seen. The women were astonished. The disciples who followed were astonished by this fact and left without even examining the tomb properly.

Mary Magdalene was still standing by the tomb. Then the risen Lord appeared. The Lord says, ?oman, why are you weeping?

At first, Mary thought she was just a gardener. You barely realize that you are the Lord Himself. It was so much fun. I tried to hug my teacher Jesus.

Then the Lord said not to touch me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go to my brothers and say, "I ascend to my Father and your Father and my God and your God."

The Lord was resurrected on the first day after the Sabbath. By showing it to Mary Magdalene, he left clear evidence of his resurrection. But we cannot see the Lord after that.

In John 20:19, the Lord first appears in the evening when the day is coming to an end, where the disciples are gathered. Where and what did our Lord do all day long? I wonder about his disappearance.

The Lord Himself speaks. Go up to my Father, do not touch me. The Lord is standing before you. Romans 1:4 says that Jesus was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead according to the spirit of holiness, our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord has become our eldest brother, the Son of God, to whom all authority in heaven and on earth will be transferred on this day. He has been given great authority and has become the Lord of salvation, becoming the cornerstone of our eternal spiritual body.

The Lord becomes the headstone of a new spiritual temple by his resurrection. Peter speaks of this in Acts chapter 2. Then all the house of Israel must know that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. There is salvation in no one else.

For there is no other name given to men by which we must be saved.

The Lord has risen to become the cornerstone of our salvation. The day of the resurrection is the day of the Lord.

Some argue that the day of the Lord's resurrection is the Sabbath, which is Saturday, not Sunday.

Let's look at Leviticus 23:9. Speak to Moses, saying, "Speak to the children of Israel, saying, "When you go into the land I am giving you and gather your grain, you shall bring to the priest the first sheaf of your grain hypocrisy, and the priest will Shake the altar acceptable before the Lord, but on the next day of the sabbath it shall be shaken.

When the Jews harvested ripe grain, they brought the first sheaf of hypocrisy before God and offered it as a wave offering. When the grain was cut, the day of offering the wave offering is the day after the Sabbath, so it is now Sunday.

The firstfruits here are the very first ears of grain that the Israelites offered the first sheaves of grain. Offering the first sheaf of grain as a wave offering foreshadowed that our Lord would rise from the dead and become the first fruits of the resurrection.

The day on which the first altar was offered as a wave offering was always the day after the Sabbath. The day the Lord was resurrected is the Lord's Day, which is now Sunday, no matter what anyone says.

Leviticus 23 continues. Read from verse 15. From the day after the sabbath day, from the day you brought the altar for the wave offering, count the seven sabbaths, and count fifty days until the day after the seventh sabbath, and offer a new grain offering to the LORD.

This day is the day of Pentecost. The Day of Pentecost is the fiftieth day counting from the day when the sheaf of new ears of grain was offered. This day of Pentecost is no different than today's Sunday.

After the resurrection, the Lord was in the world for 40 days and then ascended into heaven.

Ten days later, on the Day of Pentecost, when the new grain offering was offered, the promised Holy Spirit was sent. The disciples were baptized with the Holy Spirit and became completely new people. I am full of power. Earthly people became heavenly people.

The disciples who were filled with the Holy Spirit preached the word of the Lord. In Acts 2:14, Peter stood up with the eleven apostles and spoke with a loud voice. He proclaimed the gospel of grace to enter the kingdom of heaven. In Matthew 16:19, the Lord promised to give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven and used that key for the first time.

Those who were stabbed at Peter's words asked, In Acts 2:38, Peter said, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. First, I urged Israel to repent." The fountain for washing away sins and defilements promised in Ezekiel 36:26 and Zechariah 13:1 began to be opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Peter goes on to say: Verse 39 says that this promise was made to you and to your children and to all who are far away, to whomever our God may call. This promise is the New Testarment, the New Testament.

God gave the new covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 through Peter's lips on this day. This covenant is said to be a new covenant given in place of the old covenant, the law.

Peter goes on to say in Acts 2:39 that this promise is salvation. You will be saved when you obey the Word. The Lord's covenant is that each repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then you will receive the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

No other interpretation is required here. No matter how hard you try to avoid literalism, there is no breakthrough. If you repent and be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, your sins will be forgiven and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This is salvation.

No one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born again of water and the Spirit. The people of the kingdom of God are those who have the Holy Spirit of the Lord in them. Romans 8:9 says that if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Christ.

In order for our sins to be forgiven and to receive the Holy Spirit, we must listen to the apostles. Anyone who repents and is baptized will receive the forgiveness of sins and receive the Holy Spirit.

This is the person who has been saved.

Three thousand people were baptized when they heard Peter's sermon. In this way, the first Church of Christ on earth was founded. This church is the tabernacle of David prophesied in Amos 9:11 and 12. The fallen veil has risen again.

In Acts 15, Elder James, who was a pillar of the Jerusalem church, acknowledged this fact at the first important meeting of the Jerusalem church. The church of Christ is the restoration of the fallen tabernacle of David.

Let's organize today's words.

The Lord was resurrected on the first day after the Sabbath. The day of the Lord's resurrection is the Lord's day. The Lord's Day is not the Sabbath. Nor is it a changed Sabbath. God has ordained a day. That day is the Lord's Day.

On the Lord's Day, Peter first used the keys of heaven. The fountain of repentance that washes away dirt was opened and the promise of salvation was proclaimed. In obedience to that promise, David's fallen tabernacle was re-established. That is the church of Christ.

The day of the Lord makes it certain that the Old Testament prophesied and the New Testament was fulfilled. On this day all of the Lord's saints worship God. Share the joy with the fellowship of saints. Do good service to your neighbors. This is the meaning of celebrating the Lord's Day.

There is no compulsion to holy water on the Lord's Day. It is a day that the Lord's saints must voluntarily observe.
