Subject: Lord, comfort me!
Text: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7
The feeling of frustration and emptiness, depression and anxiety when bad things happen while living in a foreign land, or when you are hurt by others, or when you have problems like this can be much more serious than the situation in Korea.
In Korea, at such times, whether you call your family, relatives, or close friends or neighbors, you can meet with them, share your feelings, and receive comfort and encouragement. And it will be easy to relieve the frustration and melancholy while enjoying the wind.
And those who have more faith can relieve their depression and frustration while praying out loud and praying at a nearby prayer center.
However, living in a foreign land here is not easy to relieve the emptiness and emptiness because of the wrong language, culture, race and food, and it is not easy to relieve depression and frustration.
Moreover, those who prefer to live in Korea than here in Canada can easily lose the will to live with symptoms of depression when their mind is depressed and stuffy due to various things.
However, most of the people who immigrate or study abroad are not able to go back and forth in Korea as if they were going to my house, so the pain of living in a foreign country is not so easy.
So many people try to lament like this at least once.
"Why did I come to this land? Did I come to cry or to laugh?"
Everyone, when we left my hometown of Korea and immigrated to Canada, which is one of the most livable countries in the world, we came to this land with expectations and dreams of something, didn't we just cry?
And I came here to feel great satisfaction in my coming to this land by accomplishing to some extent what I had dreamed of and aimed at and by contacting my family, relatives, friends, and neighbors in Korea more proudly. Hasn't he come?
However, after living in this foreign land for a while, we realize that this is not a place where our dreams come true as easily as we set out to do.
Moreover, in this foreign land, when stress approaches and worries and anxiety about the future arise due to various problems in this foreign land, and when the hand that comforts and encourages me is so insignificant, weak, and far away, we are the closest to me and my circumstances. I need to get comfort, encouragement, and strength from the God who knows me best and loves me the most.
Ladies and gentlemen, our God is a personal person who has all the designated justice.
In other words, God knows all of our past, present, and future situations, feels all the joys and sorrows of our hearts, and takes care of us diligently with will for us.
When we meet various problems in this foreign land, when we are sad, when we are frustrated, when we are empty, when we are worried, when we are in trouble, the Lord wants to come closest to me and give me comfort and encouragement at this time.
Don't ask me so crudely, why does God have such grace and mercy on me?
God is merciful by nature, delights to be gracious by nature, and loves us unconditionally. And that's our Father, and it's so natural for a father to love his child, who asks his father, "Father, why do you love me?" If you ask with a strange expression, it's rather an ignorant and rude question.
Everyone, don't forget.
The God who made the whole heavens and the earth is our Father. Therefore, as fathers and children, when we face various difficulties in this foreign land, it is very natural to come closer to us and comfort and strengthen us.
Everyone, don't forget.
Heavenly Father wants to be closest to you and comfort you when you are hurt in this foreign land, faced with problems, your heart sags, and you are caught up in an unknown emptiness. I want to give you strength and encouragement to straighten your sagging shoulders and give you the courage to overcome the world.
When no one in this world can comfort my heart, only God can cool and refresh my troubled heart.
Therefore, when you are in a foreign land, when you are struggling, when you are frustrated and empty, when you are sad and suffering, say, 'Heavenly Father, please comfort me.' pray.
Our God and Savior Jesus wants to comfort us today by sending the Holy Spirit who comforted many people in those days.
The original meaning of the Holy Spirit is 'the one who comes to comfort us'. So, the fact that the Holy Spirit has come means that the Comforter has come by my side.
Or in your memories, do you not remember the person who comforted you most warmly and warmly when you were faced with some difficult and difficult thing?
Of course, since the world is so harsh, it is not easy to receive comfort and encouragement from people, and there may be no such memories.
But think about it.
If the person who understands me the best in this world and who can cover up my ugliest things endlessly is right next to me, how much peace and reassurance can I get in life?
Guys, never forget.
The Holy Spirit who comforts you without limit is right next to you.
Therefore, in this foreign land, when your heart is depressed and sad, when you feel empty, empty, and stuffy, when you lose courage, your shoulders sag and you feel discouraged, pray honestly like this.
"Lord, comfort me!"
The great men of faith in the Bible prayed for God's comfort when they were having a difficult time, and God comforted them abundantly according to that prayer. Also, those who received God's overflowing comfort confessed this thanks to God's comfort.
?쏽ou help and comfort me, O LORD??(Psalm 86:17).
?쏮ake me great, O God, and turn and comfort me??(Psalm 71:21).
"Blessed be the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercy, the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our afflictions, that with the comfort we receive from God, we may comfort them in all afflictions. This is Ishiro." (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
Also, God himself said this.
?쏧 am the one who comforts you??(Isaiah 51:12).
?쏤or the LORD comforts Zion, and comforts all her desolate places; he has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; rejoicing and rejoicing, thanksgiving, and the voice of singing will be in her.??(Isaiah 51) :3)
?쏛s a mother comforts her children, so I will comfort you, and you will be comforted in Jerusalem; and when you see this, your heart will rejoice, and your bones will grow like soft grass??(Isaiah 66:13-14).
?쏞onsolation of your hearts from God our Father of everlasting comfort??(2 Thessalonians 2:16-17).
Ladies and gentlemen, the Apostle Paul was going through great tribulation and various difficulties at times while preaching the gospel and establishing the kingdom of heaven.
?쏛s the sufferings of Christ abound, so also our comfort abounds through him??(2 Corinthians 1:5).
The Apostle Paul also confessed that he received the gospel from himself and was greatly comforted by seeing the saints and churches standing strong in faith, hope, and love.
?쏧 have found much comfort in your love??(Phm 1:7).
?쏧 have found comfort in you through your faith??(1 Thessalonians 3:7).
?쏷hese are those who work together for the kingdom of God, and such have been my comfort??(Colossians 3:11).
Folks, God is speaking to us.
?쏞omfort ye, comfort my people??(Isaiah 40:1).
Gentlemen, we must comfort each other in this foreign land. We need to encourage each other. And sometimes, when our comfort is not enough, we should pray earnestly that Jesus, the Lord of comfort, will comfort them abundantly.
So we need to help them to receive great comfort from the Lord, gain courage and strength, and steadfastly follow the path of the saints. And seeing them gain courage and move forward is a great comfort to us.
