title ; Lord, grant our wish!
Text: Mark 10:46-52
Everyone, what are your wishes for the new year 2003?
If God grants your wishes in the new year and asks you to tell them, what wishes would you confess to Jesus?
At the time of Jesus, a man named Bartimaeus had a very earnest wish. He was born blind, so his short life was wrapped up like a piece of tissue paper, and he had no choice but to live as a beggar and barely sustain his life.
Therefore, he clings to Jesus and cries out earnestly.
“Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Then Jesus stopped walking and turned around and said to him.
“What do you want me to do for you?” (Luke 18:41)
In a way, this question of Jesus seems to be quite foolish.
Because it is a fact that everyone knows that the blind man's wish is of course to open his eyes.
Nevertheless, when Jesus asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” it means, “Do you have a strong desire to open your eyes?
Then Bartimaeus immediately exclaimed, "Lord, I want to see."
“Your faith has saved you” (Luke 18:42).
In other words, to come to Jesus with a firm belief that Jesus will grant your wishes and to express your wishes with your lips is an act of faith.
Therefore, everyone, firmly believe that Jesus will grant your wishes and confess your wishes to Jesus.
Confession of faith does not bother Jesus, but rather pleases Jesus greatly, and Jesus is the one who fulfills the wishes of the people who confess their faith.
New Year 2003 The Lord asks each of us.
"What do you want me to do?"
At this point, we must answer.
"Lord, I wish that you may be free from sickness and be well.
"Lord, I wish you to have abundance and abundance."
"Lord, I want all members of the family to have a happy and harmonious family that believes in God well."
"Lord, this time I wish to have a son."
“Lord, I want our Full Gospel Central Church to be doubled in revival.”
"Lord, I want to quit drinking and smoking that are unhealthy."
"Lord, I want to be filled with the Holy Spirit and work hard to build the kingdom of heaven."
Ladies and gentlemen, God grants us when we earnestly desire and desire God's grace, and He does not give precious grace to those who do not want it or do not want it in vain.
Therefore, the Bible says:
“It is God who works in you, to will and to do for his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:7).
In other words, when we earnestly desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit, when we earnestly desire to quit drinking and smoking, when we earnestly desire to be healed, when we earnestly wish to have a son, when we earnestly wish for good studies, to build a beautiful church When you earnestly desire for evangelism, when you earnestly desire to evangelize, He will give you such power and grace.
In other words, if there is a wish, there is also an answer.
So, everyone, look to God and have a wish. And make that wish to God.
Hang on, "Lord, save my family."
Hang on, "Lord, cure the disease."
Ask, "I need money, so please give me something."
The Lord says
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).
“You do not have because you do not ask” (James 4:2).
“Until now you have asked for nothing in my name; ask, and you will receive, so that your joy may be full” (John 16:24).
Everyone, why have you been complaining since the new year that you don't ask for it and that you lack it?
Why do you give up in the new year by saying, "It can't be, it's impossible, it's not the time yet" without making a wish?
Our God is not a bad God. Our God is not an incompetent God. Our God is not an indifferent God. Rather, our God is a good God, an almighty God, and a God who wants to grant our wishes. God wants us to come to you and make that wish.
And God grants our wishes and wants us to rejoice, dance and praise. Therefore, even if you are ill to death, ask God to help you save your life. And glorify God by being healed by the power of God.
If you have a problem or pain that you are facing, ask God to solve the problem with tears.
And try to solve problems with the miraculous power of God and repay God with praise and thanks.
The Bible says that even Jesus, "while in the flesh, offered up supplications and supplications with loud cries and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and was heard because of his reverence" (Hebrews 5:7).
In Matthew 15, we see a Syrobonic woman whose daughter was possessed by a vicious demon. She is not an Israelite, but a foreign woman, but she clings to the Lord.
"Lord, heal my daughter"
Then the Lord speaks to this woman.
“Woman, great is your faith. It will be done as you wish” (Matthew 15:28).
Ladies and gentlemen, our God is so earnestly wishing that our wishes, you and mine, and the wishes of all things will come true.
So the Bible says:
“The LORD opens his hand and satisfies the desire of every living thing” (Psalm 145:16).
“God will fulfill the desires of those who fear him; he will hear their cry and save them” (Psalm 145:19).
“The Lord satisfies your desires with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:5).
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).
“O LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble” (Psalm 10:17).
“May the Lord grant you the desire of your heart and fulfill all your plans” (Psalm 20:4).
Just as parents want their children to be healthy and blessed, so God wants us to do well. He wants us so much to be healthy.
So the Bible says: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in good health, as your soul prospers” (3 John 1:2).
Therefore, everyone, it is not our only wish that we do well, it is God's wish, our Father, and that our wish comes true is not our own joy, but God's joy and God's happiness.
Don't forget. If you are happy, God is happy too. When you rejoice and rejoice, God rejoices and rejoices.
So don't be depressed. God is also depressed. No matter how difficult the circumstances, don't be discouraged.
Rather, look and rejoice in God who grants our wishes.
In 2003 this year, God will surely grant our wish, you and me. God sent Jesus to this earth to make our wishes come true.
Our Jesus fulfilled that wish by making the poor rich, He fulfilled that wish by healing the sick, and made that wish come true by raising the dead.
And today, Jesus is alive and wants to make our wish, you and mine, come true.
In Esther chapter 5, King Ahasuerus of the Medes and Persian kingdoms says that Esther, the queen, is so lovely.
"Queen Esther, what is your wish and what is your request? I will give you half of the kingdom." (Esther 5:3)
Ladies and gentlemen, Jesus, the King of kings, loves us who are his brides so much. King Ahasuerus loved his queen Esther and offered to give her half of her kingdom, but Jesus wants us to give her all, not half, of her kingdom.
King Ahasuerus loved his wife Esther, but he did not give his life, but Jesus gave his life for us. How can Jesus, who even gave his life, grant us our wishes?
The Bible clearly tells us.
“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him also gift us all things?” (Romans 8:32)
Ladies and gentlemen, today the Lord asks us: "Beloved, what is your wish and what is your request? I will even give you my life."
Ladies and gentlemen, when Jesus says that He will give His life, how can we say, "It's not possible. It's impossible." Do you only sigh and get frustrated?
Such an attitude saddens Jesus and is a very disrespectful act that hurts Jesus' self-esteem. Jesus is the King of kings who has all authority in heaven and on earth.
He will make our wishes come true, so why do we keep insisting, "No, it's impossible" from the new year?
Who the hell is stubbornness for, and who is despair for? Who the hell do we believe in?
Although the princes of this world may not be able to grant our wishes due to lack of power, there is nothing that cannot be done to our God. If we make our wishes according to God's will, God has firmly promised that our wishes will be granted. Rather, the Lord exhorts us to do this.
“Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be done for you” (Mark 11:24).
Ladies and gentlemen, the Lord who granted the wish of Badimaeus in the old days and the wish of the Syrobonige woman speaks to us on this new year 2003.
"What is your wish and what is your request? Your wish will be granted." Ladies and gentlemen, each of us has a very strong desire as a child of God and a servant of God.
It is the strong desire for the church, the body of Jesus, established by paying the price of the blood of Jesus, to prosper and revive. That's why we write those wishes in the church bulletin and pray every day.
This is our wish for 2003.
“Lord, help me to pray earnestly for revival.
Lord, make me act right for revival.
Lord, grant me a double revival.
Lord, grant me double the amount of missionary support.”
Everyone, let's pray earnestly for this goal, which is the wish of all of us in 2003, to the Lord every day like Bartimaeus, and to the Lord like a woman.
And let us sacrifice ourselves as a grain of wheat to achieve peace, harmony, and reconciliation, which are absolutely necessary for revival.
God knows all of our hard work, suffering, and effort to build the kingdom of heaven, and He pays for everything on that day. And even in 2003, he repays us according to our wishes and with something better than our wishes.
Therefore, we are confident that this 2003 will be a happy and enjoyable year. No matter how difficult the foreign environment is, I am sure that it will be a truly blessed year for us. By all means, I hope that 2003 will be a year where your wishes and me will come true.
