Lord! leave me!

Luke 5:1-11 10-01-31

Buil Church Sunday Daytime Worship Sermon

[Introduction]

-The 3 major works of Jesus on earth

Teach, preach, heal...

Even in today's text, Jesus was preaching the kingdom of God to people, teaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing the sick.

Luke 4 “38: When Jesus got up and went out of the synagogue, he went into Simon’s house, and Simon’s mother-in-law was caught with a severe fever, and a man asked Jesus for her. 39: Jesus stood near and rebuked the fever. 40 As soon as the woman had left, the woman got up and ministered to them. 40 At sunset, all those who were ill with various diseases brought the sick, and Jesus laid His hands on them one by one and healed them. I must preach the gospel of the kingdom of God, for I have been sent.” 44: And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.”

Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom wherever he went and with whomever he met.

1. Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom of heaven.

“1: As the crowds supported and listened to the word of God, Jesus stood by the shore of Lake Gennesaret 2: and saw two boats lying on the shore of the lake, and the fishermen got out of the boat and washed their nets. He asked him to float a little on land, and he sat down and taught the crowds in the boat.”

-The shores of Lake Gennesaret are another name for the Sea of Galilee. Around the lake are villages such as Tiberias, Capernaum and Bethsaida. When Jesus found the fishermen washing their nets in Lake Gennesaret, he got into a boat and asked to float a little on the shore. This was Simon Peter's boat, who returned from fishing at night. Simon Peter also listened.

2. Jesus gave orders to Peter, the shipper, as the master.

“4: When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Go into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5: Simon answered and said, “Master, we have toiled all night and have gained nothing.” and"

-According to the data, Galilee catches more fish at night than during the day. In particular, it is said that they work at night with tug nets. After speaking, Jesus gives a command to Peter. He spoke like the owner of the ship, and like the owner of Peter. “Go out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” Peter knew who Jesus was by hearing the rumors. So I thought he was a teacher teaching something. Peter speaks out of respect for his teacher. Still, he says he went out to the lake at night and tried to lower his nets to catch fish, but he didn't get anything. Not knowing anything else, it was a situation in which Peter did not have to listen to what he said to him as a fisherman. But Peter did not recognize Jesus as Lord. Most people at the time treated Jesus as a “rabbi teacher” respected and obeyed Jesus’ commands in that way. But Jesus commanded Peter as master.

3. Jesus also commanded the fish as the master.

“6: So there were so many fish that the nets were torn. 7: Then they beckoned their companions in the other boat to come and help.

- The obedience of creation appears frequently in the Bible. It was a natural phenomenon to obey God's transcendent power, and as the master of all things. But in the eyes of people, it was a strange miracle, a frightening and frightening phenomenon.

-Genesis 7:9 They came out to Noah, male and female, as God had commanded. As I looked at it, I couldn't contain my surprise and fear. People's reactions to the power of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, were also astonishing and terrifying. “Who the hell did he do this?” Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. In today's text, we see fish obeying the master's command. There were so many fish that the nets were torn at that time.

4. Jesus is the Lord of heaven and earth.

8: When Simon Peter saw this, he fell on his knees at Jesus' knees and said, "Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinner."

-Looking at the worldly value, on the morning of the day when you returned from your vain, you heard the story of the teacher named Jesus, and you went out again and lowered your nets. If you caught so many fish that the nets were torn, it would be a perfectly worthwhile day. Peter, John, and James, who should rejoice At first I was surprised and scared. And soon Peter knelt before the Lord and begged him to leave him. And he confessed that he was a sinner too ashamed to face the Lord. In this way, the gospel changes our hearts.

Philippians 2: “9: Therefore God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth; confessed that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

-Peter asked, “Who the hell is this man to do these marvelous things?” You must have thought a lot. Soon, Peter was convinced that He was the Messiah and Savior who would come to save mankind for whom the Bible testified. And they discover their dark and dirty sins before the Lord who is the light. And he confessed that he was a sinner. And out of a fearful heart, he asked to leave him, who had been defiled with sin.

5. Those who are committed to the gospel.

“9: For he and all those with him were astonished at the catch, 10: for James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's associates, were also astonished. 11: Then they put the boats on shore, and left everything and followed Jesus.”

- “I will make you fishers of men,” he said, meaning people who save souls, will live as disciples of the Lord. Those words were prophesied by God through the prophet Jeremiah (Jeremiah 16:16, Hab 1:14-15).

“16: Behold, I have called many fishermen, and made them fish,” says the Lord. “15: He catches them all with his fishing nets and catches them in nets and gathers them for hope and rejoices over them.” The Lord said to Peter and his disciples, “Follow me, and I will I will make you fishers of men.” These are the words of God's promise to save the world, and they will be fulfilled through the Messiah Jesus Christ and his disciples.

-When we hear the word of the gospel of God, our hearts are changed. After Jesus died on the cross, was resurrected, and ascended to heaven, Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit and boldly testified of the gospel of the kingdom and the name of the Lord. Even then, amazing things happened.

Acts 2:36: “Therefore, let all the house of Israel know for sure, that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” 38 He said to him, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

In Acts 3, he took pity on the lame man sitting at the beautiful gate of the temple, healed him in the name of Jesus, who is the subject of the gospel, not the gold and silver he asked for, and taught him the name of Jesus, the Lord of life.

In Acts 4, the disciple Peter proclaimed that Jesus Christ alone is our Lord who will bring about salvation. 12: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

-The gospel of the kingdom does not matter who we are, where we come from, or what we do. does not differentiate. And it doesn't differentiate. God is working through those who have been baptized in the gospel.

-The gospel of the kingdom is power. A change of heart takes place. Joy springs up. The Holy Spirit makes us proud in the face of our circumstances and problems. It makes you not afraid. And the Holy Spirit gives us hope. Because of the Lord, He helps us to realize the reason we need to live, the purpose of living, and the mission we have to live. He gives you wisdom and strength so you don't give up.

[conclusion]

There is a man named Nick Vujicic, who was born in Australia. He was born without arms and legs.

It was so uncomfortable, difficult and sad that he couldn't describe it, so he said the 8-year-old boy tried to commit suicide. Living without any hope or hope, he grew up thinking that if God did not put an end to this humble life, he had to end it himself. But in the end, God stopped his thoughts like that. And my parents read the Bible every day. At that time, God created himself with amazing grace, and Nick Vujicic came to realize that he is not alone in this world, but that Jesus, who created and protects him, is always with him. I have come to realize that nothing is impossible if I pray in His name. Because power comes from the Lord, I believed that if I live by the power of the Lord, I will never be alone.

In this way, he had a reason to live, strength, and courage. Nick Vujicic, who could not do anything, came to know that he was a precious person who could do everything because the Lord was with him. It is said that he came to know this fact through the words of the Bible that his parents told him.

In this way, the gospel changes our hearts and makes us able to do greater things through our transformed ourselves. God never gave up on his people. Even today, God has not given up on us, his people. Do not ask the Lord to leave the Lord who did not give up and come to me, but I pray that you and I will be obedient by kneeling before the Lord in faith by listening to what the Lord has to say about me, to become fishers of men.
