Title: Lord! leave me! I am a sinner

Peter, as we know, was born on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, and there he was a fine person. He is an expert in fishing. It is a person who can clearly see the movement of meat depending on the day and night. Everyone knows where the flocks gather at midnight and where they gather at dawn. Therefore, he has learned from his long experience that in the middle of the night you have to cast your net to a deep place, and at dawn, you have to cast it in a thin place to catch a lot of fish.

That day too, Peter tried to fish all night long in the depths of the lake, but for some reason he couldn't catch a single fish that day, and he returned with a disappointing heart and was repairing the net. Get down and catch a fish!” It was an absurd statement for him as he stretched across the bottom of the Sea of Galilee as if he was looking at the palm of his hand. But Peter soon shattered his thoughts and said, “Gone teacher! We have toiled all night and have gained nothing, but at your word we will let down our nets.”

In this answer of Peter, there is also a lot of human error. This was Peter's intent. I was born and raised by this lake. Up until now, I've only been catching fish to an unrivaled degree. But on this morning when the sun is shining, when you cast your net deep into the depths of the sea, even if you throw it in a thin place, you might catch a fish. You are talking nonsense. Even so, I will stop my thoughts for now and follow your advice. However, if, as you said, the net is thrown into the depths and no fish are caught, you will be responsible for all the words that have been uttered out of your mouth. With this intention, Peter threw his net into the depths.

However, contrary to Peter's intention, the result was the complete opposite. Contrary to popular belief that Peter had ever caught, so many fish were caught that the nets were torn. It is recorded that no matter how many fish were caught, even the boat next to it was mobilized to pull out the net. Peter must have been astonished by the enemy. It was the first time he had ever seen such a sight. What we need to pay attention to here is Peter's next action. When Peter witnessed the great spectacle unfolding before his eyes, he immediately knelt before Jesus. Then he said, “Lord! leave me! I am a sinner.”

Even though Peter has a bit of a quick and rough personality, Peter is a person who knows how to immediately and clearly admit his faults to his superiors for his faults. Compared to this character of Peter, what about the actions of the Pharisees, who believed themselves to be righteous? “Then the Pharisees went and thought about how they could entangle Jesus with his words, Teacher, we know that you are true and truthful, teaching the way of God, and taking no hesitation from anyone; it is hammi Then tell us what you think. Is it lawful or impossible to pay taxes to Caesar?” (Matthew 22:15-17) What they are doing is truly noble.

How detestable are these people, knowing that even in their own eyes, Jesus does not judge people by their outward appearance, but by the heart and judges them, yet they are testing Jesus in such a way that they will trap him in their snare. Why couldn't they be disciples of Jesus, and why lowly people like Peter became disciples of Jesus?

In the light of Peter's image, what is our conduct today? When I come back to me with a broken heart without catching a single fish all night, a stranger appears to me and says, 'Go into the deep, lower your nets and catch another fish. ? Nine times out of ten, you probably won't even listen. If you believe in your own skills, you can say, “Honey, what time is it now, and you threw your net into the depths? It’s morning and all the fish come out thin. Oh, by the way, let the nets go down in the depths... Someone who knows how to eat your meat,” he would sarcastically.

So, today, when the Lord came before Christians like a thief and spoke such absurd words to them as he did to Peter (actually, it is the word of truth, but it is not fulfilled because humans do not believe it), someone believes the words of an unfamiliar person and willingly lowers their nets. will it be It is a very obvious fact that Christians, like the Pharisees, will not accept the word of the Lord who comes like a thief like the Pharisees, the more they believe that they are saved by the Holy Spirit, or those who have attended church for a long time or wear a high reputation in the church. The saying that it is dark under the lamp is what these people are referring to.

Man cannot know what he is until he has received the light of Christ. If the Jews, including the Pharisees, knew where they came from and where they were going, and who Christ was, they would never have crucified the Lord of Glory. Likewise, today's Christians would not reject the Lord who would come before them if they knew where they came from and where they were going.

The reason is that if you look at the lives of Christians today, there is no difference at all from the lives of Jews, including Pharisees, in Jesus' day. Aren't those who say they have hope in heaven, like unbelievers, are all focused on eating and living well in the world? Even if they appear in front of them and tell them what to say, they cannot understand the spiritual word of the Lord at all, with their eyes and ears covered by the world.

Even if the spiritual Lord comes and speaks to them, it is fortunate that they do not point their fingers at them because they do not agree with their thoughts or accuse them of being a heretic monster. However, as we can see from the actions of the Jews, those who believe themselves to be good or righteous have their spiritual eyes and ears closed, and they reject the Lord's word, which is in all probability. However, like the tax collectors and prostitutes who lowered themselves as sinners in Jesus' day, spiritual eyes and ears will be opened to those who humble themselves as sinners today, and the Lord's words will be heard clearly and surely.

And to those who humbled themselves as sinners, God the Holy Spirit makes us realize in our hearts that we are sinners who have broken the law of the Holy Spirit when we hear the words of the Son. Therefore, all human beings should go to the Son sent by God, receive the forgiveness of sins, and come before the Father through the Son. For this reason, the Father is telling all humans to believe in His Son and come out. This is the reason why He sent His Son before humans. “No one comes to the Father except through me!”
