Title: Lord! Save us!
God made the Israelites born under the law and made them live under the law so that they would realize their sins. The law only made people aware of physical sin, and when the Israelites who lived under the law at the time broke the law, sin was established according to the law, and as a result of that sin, people became ill. So, when Jesus came, when the people of Israel were at the peak of their depravity, there were unusually many sick people, such as lepers, blind men, and lame people, among the Israelites. That is, the conclusion is that it is better to have a disease in the body than to have no disease in the body when it comes to realizing sin. Of course, if there is an illness in the body, pain that is difficult to express in words physically follows, and personally, as a sinner in the society at the time, I would be ostracized from my fellow countrymen, and I would receive severe discrimination from them. He brought a good environment for them to work, and from God's point of view, on the contrary, such people become more worthy of the kingdom of God.
Just because they lived under the law and did not suffer from any serious physical illness, it does not mean that their hearts are still healthy. They did not become physically ill because they lived under the law and worked a little more devoutly than those who were physically ill, but it does not mean that they did not become ill because they kept the law perfectly. Because the justice of the law comes from realizing sin, if they really keep the law and live, they too can fully realize their sins without getting sick. However, it is impossible for a sinful human being surrounded by darkness to realize his own sinfulness. In order for a person who lived in darkness to realize that he is living in darkness, light must come to light the darkness. Since darkness instinctively hates light, darkness itself cannot accept light.
Now, this also applies to the Gentiles today.
The biggest problem for Gentiles who believe today is that when they become physically ill, they pay a debt to go to a large hospital to fix it, but they are indifferent to the spiritual sins that constantly rise in their hearts even though they live under the Holy Spirit. Because Gentiles are not people who lived under the law, they can get sick regardless of their religious life. The sickness that comes to the Gentiles is not a physical illness, but if you disobey the will of the Holy Spirit, an evil spirit will be added to your heart and you will be carrying another disease in your heart. The more Gentiles bear these diseases (evil spirits), the further away they are from God, and the more they lose their vitality in their religious life and their own lives.
When Gentiles are filled with the Holy Spirit, they receive the light of the Holy Spirit and feel happy and lively, but one day, without knowing it, they suddenly disobey the will of the Holy Spirit and lose the fullness of the Holy Spirit. It is as if you are walking in the winter sea where no one is looking. Without a question, such a person has found a disease in his heart. Such people must come to the spiritual Son, who is the healer of the soul, as soon as possible and receive treatment for their mental illness. Nothing in this world will ever heal the soul. We should see the blind men in today's text and understand ourselves properly. What spiritual disease do I have now? And am I really struggling to be healed of this spiritual illness? And are you looking for the Lord like the blind people in today's text? Saying that.
