People often seek out what is lost and find something better.
lost and gained
Saul's father, Kish, lost the donkeys. In ancient times, donkeys were used by nobles to show their wealth and power. In Saul's household, the lost donkeys were great, but compared to what will happen later, the donkeys are insignificant.
There is a saying, “What is seen is temporary, but what is not seen is eternal.” The things of the world are temporary, but the gifts of God are eternal gifts. I hope you will find the things of God even if you lose the things of the world. Because of that, God allows us to find the church and to meet God.
While looking for donkeys, he met the prophet Samuel.
Lost money! The one who has lost his honor! Lost your job!
The saints pray for it, but if you get to know them, you will know more valuable things. God makes it so. Losing is not only unfortunate. His father, Kish, commanded Saul to take one of his servants and look for the female donkeys. But they did not find the donkeys easily. So, in verse 4, they suffered a lot.
Sometimes a quick response isn't the only good thing. I find it frustrating because I can't find it even though I search for it, so I think of the prophet Samuel. That is the day we gather in the high place for worship. They didn't even know the date had passed as they searched for the female donkeys for three days. A successful life is when you find a mentor who can hold onto you even if you lose ten thousand things in your life. Just as the disciples of Jesus gave up all their glory and job and followed Jesus, it is a blessing to have met someone who will take charge of my life. What have you lost today?
God was preparing for the era of Israel's monarchy.
Through insignificant female donkeys, God uses it as an opportunity to accomplish His will.
Saul went to the high place of God because of the lost donkey and met a prophet of God. Saul was captured by Samuel because of his lost donkey and was anointed as Israel's first king.
What have we lost today? Since you have come to the Lord, I hope you will meet the Lord and get better things. Sometimes we go to church in tears because of our lost health, money, fame, or work, but God makes us pray so that we can see and find the spiritual things in heaven.
