Luke 10:1-16 Pray for Peace Topic: 28. Evangelism. 2009. 12. 6.
◎ Introduction
: Christ's workers are telling how to work, and listeners are telling them how to treat God's workers.
1. Let's raise seventy disciples. (1~2)
One). Jesus made 70 disciples to prepare his way. (One)
① There were far more disciples than often described as twelve. (Compare Acts 1:21)
② I sent them two by two to encourage and help each other.
③ He saw such a great need that a great witness was required.
④ They first sent 70 people as pioneers. (Preparing people for the coming of Jesus)
2). Pray for more workers. (2)
※ As the first mission of the disciples, the need was so overwhelming that more workers were needed.
① There was a great harvest of precious souls that came along with the Gospel.
* People stumbled and wandered under the weight of sin and a dying world.
② Workers were very rare.
③ The need was urgent. (The grain is ripe and ready for harvest. Some wanted the gospel.
④ God sent workers. (God is the source, and prayer is the way it is sent.
(John 4:35-36; Mark 4:29; Psalm 126:5-6; Hos 10:12)
2. Go into a hostile world. (3-15)
※ There are threats and dangers of persecution. (3)
* They are like wolves, defending their territory, roaring, and starving to eat.
※ The spirit of Christ's workers should be soft and without malice and like a sheep. (3)
(Acts 20:28-31; John 15:20; 16:1-4; Phil 1:29; 1 Thessalonians 3:3; 2 Timothy 3:12; 1 Pet 4:12-16)
One). Trust in God and realize the urgency of time. (4)
① Trust God.
* They had to trust God without worrying about money and food for food, clothing, and shelter.
② When time is urgent, act immediately.
* Do not waste time on unnecessary conversations on the street, but pray and do ministry.
(John 9:4; 1 Corinthians 7:29; Ephesians 5:16; Col 4:5; Psalm 90:12)
2). Keep the message, but don't force it on people. (5-6)
① The message of the worker was peace. (5)
* Peace with God, the peace of God dwelling in people's hearts, and the peace between people.
② The worker was to proclaim peace to every house he entered. (5)
* Evangelists and messages should never be forced.
* If the disciples accept the message of peace, the message continues, and if they reject it, they must reap it.
③ Christ's method was the evangelization of the house. (It was home evangelization)
* It was to draw a concentric circle from family to family, putting the family at the center of the ministry.
3). Get paid, but don't look for luxury. (7)
① “Workers deserve wages”
* Workers do not have to be conscientious or troubled about getting paid for their work.
② “Do not move from house to house” * You should not pursue luxury by looking for better places from house to house.
* The worker lives simply, giving everything he has beyond his own needs, that is, giving everything to meet the needs of others.
(Col 3:1 2; Ro 8:5 6; Hebrews 11:13 16, 24-26)
4). Be considerate and accept the convenience of others. (8~9)
※ Jesus gave his disciples three tasks.
① Identify yourself with people. This is the point. (8)
* To emphasize the importance, we cite the most sensitive and basic things, such as food.
② Serve people. (9)
* The preacher should serve the needs of people, the needs of the body, and even heal the sick.
③ “Tell them that the kingdom of God has come near”
* The message was given by Christ. The kingdom of God was right before him. This was the opportunity for them.
(Matthew 4:17; 10:7; Luke 4:43; 8:1; 16:16; 21:31; Acts 1:3; 8:12; 20:25; 28:23)
5). Leave those who do not welcome you (10-15)
※ This protects the lions from harm at least, and serves as a warning to people.
① There will be cities that will not receive Him. (10-12)
* By shaking the dust off his feet, he symbolized God's rejection of them.
② There will be people who merely confess that they are God's people.
* They only confessed and rejected the Son of God.
* Greater than judgment on the Gentiles. Because they already have a chance.
③ There will be people with continual evidence.
* Capernaum was the chosen city and the center of Christ's ministry (Matt. 9:1), but he refused.
(Mark 8:38; Luke 12:48; John 3:19; Romans 2:8; 14:12; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8; Hebrews 3:13; 1 Pet 4:4-5)
3. Know that Christ's workers represent the Lord. (16)
① The status and message of the Lord's messenger has the highest value.
* Since the lion represented Christ, the message was regarded as the word of the Lord Himself.
② Rejecting the Lord's messenger was the most serious injustice.
* It was considered a rejection of God Himself.
