Title Luke (Colossians 04:14)
Contents [Luke] (meaning "the one who gives light"), a Gentile who was born in Antioch in Syria, is presumed to have been influenced by Paul.
Luke, who was born again, was changed from a doctor who healed physical diseases to a doctor who delivered a beam of healing to the sick soul.
After that, Luke followed Paul after leaving a stable environment where he could receive a guaranteed income through medical activities.
From this time on, Luke began a busy life as a doctor in charge of Paul's chronic disease (Paul's thorn) and an interpreter for missions.
Along with Paul's second missionary journey, he became his doctor, became his friend, and began full-scale missionary activities.
Luke, a humble and faithful man, is believed to have endured many hardships that accompanied Paul until his martyrdom.
Luke, who lived as a helper by standing on the side of the weak, also showed the image of a true companion who protected Paul, who was living in a lonely prison with a sickly body.
Luke also developed and utilized the talents and gifts he received as a man of the Holy Spirit who was devoted to prayer.
In particular, Luke, who was born with outstanding literary talent, recorded the history and truth he knew with accurate observation and learning while accumulating medical training.
Among the four gospels of the New Testament, the only Gentiles who were moved by the Holy Spirit and recorded the word of God are [Luke], which is recognized as the most literary book among the four Gospels of the New Testament, and [Acts], which records the history of the early church. Both of these books were personal writings, both addressed to a specific person named Theophilus.
These words of life, written through the fingertips of the soul-loving Luke, testify of Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully human.
In addition, it remains an immortal truth that presents the way of salvation to all mankind by revealing the gospel of the kingdom of heaven that the disciples of Jesus Christ continue to expand. A [beloved clinician] who treated not only physical but also spiritual diseases, opened the way for medical missionary work for the first time.
Despite these remarkable achievements in Christian history, Luke showed a sublime figure that transcends pride and honor in this world.
Also, Luke, who humbly devoted himself to the work of expanding the kingdom of God without revealing himself, was not lacking enough to be an example of a mature believer. Luke's humility, who wanted to reveal only the Lord, was exalted by God and his name was honored to be remembered forever.
Even now, there are many people in the world who are suffering from disease and suffering and living a difficult life.
Today's [Luke] is desperately needed in this age to realize that all people in this world who have no choice but to die are "neighbors to love" and to shine the light of life on them.
