Title Luke 16:19-31 Remember this

Contents

Luke 16:19-31 Remember this Topic: 31. Heaven. 2006. 8. 13.

Introduction

: This is a real situation (not a metaphor, but a real name. You can't see it anywhere else.)

We must always remember that spiritual and eternal truth must be expressed in the earthly language used by humans.

1. The difference in life (19-21)

2. The Difference Between Death (22)

3. Eternal Difference (23-31)

1. The difference in life (19-21)

One). The main difference is that Lazarus has a name, but the rich man does not.

“Lazarus” means “God is my help.” But the rich man is written as a rich man, but his name is not before God. (John 10:14, 1 Corinthians 8:3, 1 Corinthians 13:12, Gal 4:8-9)

2). Lazarus was poor, but the rich man was rich.

The sin of the rich: The sin of the rich is mostly invisible in society.

There is no record that he committed an evil and ugly sin. did not commit any public sin. They didn't even drive Lazarus out of the gate. He didn't even stop eating the crumbs. He wasn't even a tyrant. It wasn't abusive and it wasn't atrocious. Rather, he was a socially responsible, exemplary citizen, respected and loved by people.

Then, what was the rich man's sin?

① “Luxury” means that he was very extravagant and showed off his wealth in material ways.

② “Gate” indicates that his house was a very large mansion.

③ “Purple clothes and fine linen clothes” It shows that he pursues the latest fashion and is overly luxurious.

④ “Daily” Shows that he held a banquet every day.

Therefore, the sins of the rich were self-indulgence, comfort, comfort, luxury, and luxury.

He had no interest in Lazarus and ignored him.

He wanted the things of this life and tried to get more and more for himself.

He had no interest in the needs of a fallen world.

He wanted what others had, and he wanted to keep pace with them.

(Mt 25:43, 1 John 3:17, Mark 4:19, 1 Tim 6:9, Zechariah 7:6, Deut 15:7) ← Find and read it.

3). The rich man was very healthy, but Lazarus was ill.

“The beggar has a boil and is lying at the rich man’s gate” He is unable to move on his own, and someone moved it to the rich man’s gate. There he suffers from boils and waits at the gate.

Society is becoming a means of evading responsibility.

: They receive generous salaries, enjoy high standards of living, and personal wealth while the poor are groaning.

are accumulating

Bottom line: Each person has a personal responsibility to the poor and weak on this earth.

The rich man in the text was responsible for Lazarus.

4). The rich man lived in luxury, but Lazarus was powerless and had to beg.

Whether Lazarus is waiting, what is a piece of bread?

: Rich people eat good food at the table and wash their hands with a piece of bread. And then throw it on the floor.

Lazarus had washed his hands and waited for the pieces of bread he had thrown on the floor.

(It is customary for people who eat with their hands to wash their hands with bread after eating) - Even if not rich

2. The Difference Between Death (22)

Lazarus died and entered paradise. But the rich man died and was buried.

The death of the rich man must have been a luxurious funeral.

His tomb will be lavishly decorated, and his headstones and inscriptions will be magnificent. But the tragedy of tragedies is what happened after he died.

Lazarus “died and was taken up by angels into Abraham’s bosom” and Abraham’s bosom is paradise.

① Lazarus is still alive despite his physical death.

② Lazarus' soul immediately met the angels. His soul is in paradise.

③ Lazarus was taken to the very source of all wealth.

(John 3:16, 36, 5:24, 2 Corinthians 4:17, Gal 6:8, 2 Peter 1:10-11)

3. The Eternal Difference (23-31)

There are ten differences between the rich man and Lazarus.

One). The rich man fell into hell, but Lazarus was in paradise. (Mt 25:46, Rev 4:11, Prov 21:13)

A rich man is a person unfit for paradise. Because he has already enjoyed all kinds of wealth in this world.

2). The rich man only saw the glory, but Lazarus experienced and enjoyed it (Luke 3:28,).

Lazarus seems to know nothing about hell.

3). The rich man was painfully alone, but Lazarus was in fellowship. (Luke 3:28)

The rich man was standing alone in Hell, and Lazarus was having fellowship with Abraham and the other saints in glory.

4). The rich man was troubled in the flames, but Lazarus had water. (Rev 22:1)

5). The rich man suffered, but Lazarus was comforted (Matthew 8:12, 13:42, Rev 20:15).

6). The rich man was determined to be hell, but Lazarus was determined to be paradise (Matthew 13:30, 49, 25:46).

7). The rich man extended his life on earth, but Lazarus said nothing.

8). The rich man was troubled over his loved ones, but Lazarus was enjoying eternal life in paradise. (Mark 8:36, John 5:24)

9). The rich man begged for one more chance, but Lazarus was quietly dwelling in peace, as promised in the Bible.

10). The rich man could not intercede for his family,

Lazarus rested in the presence of God. (Romans 2:5, John 5:39, Romans 4:24-25)

There is a world different from this world, namely the spiritual world and the spiritual world.

The spiritual world is divided into two. Paradise is a place of glory, hell is a place of suffering.

It is the words of the text that paradise and hell do exist.(23)

(Luke 16:19-31, 24, Matthew 27:52-53, Ephesians 4:8-10, 1 Peter 3:19-20)

genitals: means to suffer pain and sorrow.

The Bible undoubtedly teaches that unbelievers will suffer in the fire.

Things to remember about hell

Because hell, in complete separation from God, is worse than any worst experience on earth.

It will be worse than any physical pain imaginable. This is the teaching of the Bible.

(Matthew 5:22, 29, ... Mark 9:43-48, Luke 12:5, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, 2 Peter 2:4, Revelation 14:10-11,..... 21:8 )
