Title Luke 24:1~12 Jesus is risen
Introduction
: The tomb was empty. It is the greatest discovery in human history.
It is a great tragedy that most people do not realize or believe that Jesus has risen.
But everyone must individually find the empty tomb and the risen Lord
① Resurrected Jesus Christ (1-3)
② Two angels and their incredible message (4-8)
③ Unbelief of the apostles (9-12)
1. Resurrected Jesus Christ (1-3)
One). First day after rest (1)
Sunday, the first day after the Sabbath, was the day after the Jewish Sabbath, and on this day Jesus was resurrected.
① It tells exactly when Jesus was resurrected.
· "At the dawn of the first day after the Sabbath" was risen before the sun rose on Sunday morning.
It was of great significance to the early church. I broke the Sabbath service and started worshiping on Sunday (Acts 20:7, )
② As you said, it means that you were in the tomb for three days (Matthew 12:40, 16:21, 17:23...
③ He died
· Because he was in the tomb on the Sabbath, he could not keep the law concerning the Passover and the Sabbath.
Therefore, keeping the law and the Sabbath had no authority over Jesus.
· Jesus symbolically identifies Himself with those who have been born again in Christ. In other words
God considers those who believe in Jesus Christ to be dead with Christ.
· The believer is dead to the law "in the death of Christ." (Romans 7:4, Matthew 5:17-18)
2). First Witnesses of the Resurrection (1)
The first witnesses to the resurrection provide strong evidence for the resurrection.
① They were practical witnesses of Jesus' death and burial.
They followed the funeral procession to the tomb (Matt. 15:40-41, 47, ...).
② They went to buy spices and apply it on Jesus' body.
③ They were religious people who strictly obeyed the law.
· They kept the Sabbath strictly. Women obeyed God's commandments (moral, faithful).
3). Large Stone Rolled (2)
A large stone was rolled away from the entrance to the tomb (for the witnesses of the resurrection). (Matthew 27:65-66)
On the spiritual level, there are no more physical limitations. But
The Witnesses needed to go to the tomb and confirm the truth (John 20:1-10).
4). dead body in grave (3)
The body of Jesus was not found in the tomb. I saw where he lay
He was not there. (Rom 4:21, 2 Cor 1:20, 2 Tim 2:13, 2 Pet 1:4)
