Luke 4:38-44 Get Close Topic: 16. Power 2006. 7. 2.
◎ Introduction: This is an event in the early days of Jesus' ministry, and it shows a typical aspect of Jesus' daily life.

1. Healing the most desperate (38-39)
※ Illustration: The story of the preacher who was rescued from death the day after the first 40 days of fasting (Presence)
※ After the service, Jesus entered Peter's house.
One). Peter's mother-in-law was seriously ill.
①She was a very desperate person with a “severe fever”.
②She was so weak that she could not even ask Jesus for help.
③She was so weak that she could not even get out of bed to ask for help when Jesus came.
④ When Jesus approached and rebuked the fever with the word, he got up and began to serve.
2). Jesus is hope for those most in need.
※ No matter how desperate, powerless, or weak you may be, there will be words of healing from Jesus. What we need is a desire to be healed.
3). He listened to the voice of his heart and answered.
※ Even if he is so powerless that he cannot even speak, he can call on the Lord with his mind. Then he will save you.
2. Healing many sick (40)
※ He laid his hands on all the people with various diseases and healed them.
One). It was early evening and sunset.
※ I was very tired from excessive work. But He loved people, and He did not close the door for those who came to Him.
2). Those who came to Him were completely helpless.
※ Some of them were people who could not get out without the help of others.
※ We must take care of the helpless enough to bring them to Jesus.
3). Jesus did not overlook or despise a single person.
※ Whatever disease they had, they were all healed.

3. Rebuke evil spirits (41)
※ He rebuked the evil spirits that testified of divinity. Why? Because it is false evidence, and it is false testimony.
① Evil spirits do not confess with their hearts.
② Because that confession did not come from the will to follow Jesus.
③He is not born again.
※ The only confession Jesus admits is a hundred of those who have deliberately decided to follow Him as Lord. (Mark 1:25-26, Romans 10:9-13)
4. Seeking a secluded place to seek God's presence (42)
※ Jesus worked day and night and worked 24 hours a day without a break.
He was now physically and mentally exhausted and exhausted.
One). He wanted to be alone in a secluded place. He wanted time alone with God.
2). People found it and begged them to stay.
※ They were hopeless and helpless
Lessons
① We must ask the Lord to renew our bodies and spirits. (more than usual)
② We must seek Him, and entreat His help while He is.
※ At that time, because he was in the flesh, he only helped those who gathered around him. But now, he has come as the Holy Spirit and can work immediately anywhere.

5. Being faithful to the mission (43-44)
One). Jesus had to fulfill his mission.
※ Jesus had to preach the gospel to other cities as well. So he could not stay with those who clamor after him.
2). Everyone had to hear the gospel.
※ In order to give the same opportunity to all those who have done it. So, in spite of being persuaded, it was defeated.
Efforts to hold on (obstruct, block, stop) have been repulsed.
