Title: Take on Full Armor
Today's text says that what we are fighting on this earth is not against people or circumstances, but against the power of Satan and the darkness of the world. Satan is the mastermind of the attack by finding and attacking our gaps. Whenever there is even the slightest gap in our body, it relentlessly digs into it and knocks us down. Therefore, we must be armed with 'full armor' in Jesus Christ. Today's text tells us to put on the six pieces of full armor.
First, it is the belt of truth. The belt wraps around the waist that supports us. There is a canteen and a dagger here. Grenade is also the answer. So the belt is important.
John 14:6
Jesus said to them, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.
Says. What is the truth? It is ‘Jesus Christ’. You must hold on to the Lord to win. The waist is the center. When the Lord is at the center of our lives, our life is in balance. Satan cannot overthrow those who hold on to the Lord.
Second, it is the breastplate of righteousness. The breastplate is referred to as the breastplate in the Old Bible. A tool to protect the heart and protect the lungs. It's a bulletproof vest these days. It's a vital point. die in one shot.
Righteousness is righteousness. The Lord is righteous. We must also be righteous. Believing in the Lord and being unjust becomes a vital point of Satan's attack. You must wear the breastplate of justice. The Lord is pleased with the honest.
Third, we must wear shoes that preach the gospel of peace.
Combat boots are very important in war. If your boots are not good, your feet will get tired and you will not be able to move forward. What are combat boots in spiritual warfare? These are shoes that preach the gospel.
The New Standard Version interprets it this way: Be prepared to preach the gospel of peace at your feet
It says in John 10.
“Whenever you enter any house, first say, ‘Peace be with this house.’ If someone finds peace there, your peace will rest with him; otherwise, it will return to you.”
Satan cannot invade those who preach the gospel.
Fourth, it is the shield of faith.
Without a shield, you can't stop flying arrows and swords. If a believer loses his faith, Satan's attack will come immediately. Therefore, the most important thing for a believer is faith. No matter how high we are or how many years of faith we have, the moment our faith weakens, Satan attacks us.
Hebrews 11:6
Without faith it is impossible to please God. He who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hallelujah.
Fifth, you must put on the helmet of salvation.
We are saved. If you believe, let's say Amen. The Greek word is 'soteria'. It means that you are set free from all your sins and transgressions. That is why we are guaranteed eternal heaven. This land is not the end. We have that heaven where we will have eternal life with the Lord. There is no sorrow and no pain. So this land is temporary. But Satan tempts us as if this world is the end. This is the test. The moment we forget the eternal kingdom, we fall into Satan's temptation. Therefore, we must always put on the helmet of salvation. And you have to remember. We must remember that this world is for a moment, and there is an eternal kingdom in that heaven.
The sixth and last is the sword of the Holy Spirit.
It's the only weapon out there. Up until now, all of this has been a means of protection. However, there is a weapon that can destroy the power of Satan that God has given us. That is ‘Holy Spirit’ = the Holy Spirit. When the wind of the Holy Spirit blows, the power of evil Satan is destroyed. When the Holy Spirit comes upon us, all our sins are forgiven and we are completely transformed. Even the appearances that do not change with my own strength will change if you are filled with the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit is the weapon that can resist Satan's temptations. When the Holy Spirit came upon Peter, his fear disappeared and he became a bold man of God. When the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus Christ, Jesus overcame the three temptations of Satan and performed powerful work. The Holy Spirit is our weapon.
Dear saints, let's win one week as well.
We cannot defeat Satan with our own strength and power.
But if the Lord is with us, we can overcome.
I pray that you will become a victorious saint by putting on the full armor by relying on the Lord.
