Title Make a railing (Deuteronomy 22:8)
Contents
Last week, an untimely heavy snow fell in March in the central region, causing the Gyodong Disaster and causing a lot of property damage. We have had the experience of losing so much life and material through disasters of this kind every year. How can you convert everything lost in such a disaster into money? However, there are geniuses and talented people in disasters. Genius is a disaster that human action cannot intervene at all, and human power cannot do anything about it. In contrast, human resources can be defined as those who provide the cause of disasters or disasters caused by human error, human negligence, human negligence, etc. So, in a way, you might think that there are no absolute geniuses. This is because, among geniuses, the responsibility for making the genius even greater lies with humans in many cases.
Today's sermon is not to regard talented people as geniuses or to insist on them, but to prevent them wisely. "When you build a new house, make a railing on the roof."
Most of the houses in Palestine have flat, slab-like roofs. And the roof was often used as a place of rest, sleeping, and prayer. As a result, there was inevitably a lot of people coming and going on the roof. So if you make a mistake, you risk falling from the top of the roof. Oftentimes, news stories about falling off the roof would have come and gone. So, in order to prevent this, when building a new house, a rule has been established to install a railing on the roof. Although it is not recorded in the Bible today, it is said that the height of the railing was at least 1M.
If you look at those who do not believe, there are people who say that it is enough to install a railing on the roof, do not make a railing, and if there is liquid in the event of an accident, or have bad luck, there are people who die on the roof. This is really stupid. Where do unbelievers live like this? Even among believers, there are some who do not correct their folly and carelessness, but blame God and others. But the saints should never do this.
First, we need to pray for God's help and at the same time find out the cause of the accident and prepare countermeasures. And we need to build a railing so that no one falls again. This is the lesson that today's text gives us. The words of Deuteronomy do not tell us to just pray. I'm not telling you to just worry. When building a new house, we are telling you to build a railing from scratch. Eliminate risk factors that may cause accidents. It is to prevent it in advance. This is wisdom and understanding. We believe that when we receive the Holy Spirit, this wisdom and understanding will not be darkened, but will be brightened. We believe that when we receive grace, this wisdom and understanding will not be darkened, but will be brightened.
Don't make mistakes over and over again. It's enough to make a mistake once or twice when you're not aware of it. If you make a mistake, you need to find out the cause of that mistake, study it, and meditate on it so that you don't make the same mistake again. It is to be the Christians who "make the railing" in the place of the mistake so that the same thing does not happen in the same place. The apartment veranda needs a handrail. Slavic houses built these days must have railings. Without a railing, there is a high probability that it will soon lead to an accident. Life is likened to building a house. Life is always fraught with risks. You must have the wisdom to build a railing on the roof of your life to prevent and prevent danger. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will make a railing in the house of your life and the house of faith.
It is not correct to think or teach that believers can be careless just because they have faith. It is right for people of faith to be careful and prevent accidents in advance, even with the slightest negligence or negligence, with the wisdom God has given them. If you believe in Jesus, there should be no shortcomings. Jesus didn't tell us to go limp. If you believe in Jesus, you become a thorough explorer and thinker. They are not people who live under the pressure or sway of nature or some kind of energy. Rather, it is the Christian who explores it and manages it well.
In the Deuteronomy Age, when falling off the roof, the Deuteronomy Journalist explored. why did you fall Why do people fall and hurt or die? The reason was that there were no railings on the roof. So, in Deuteronomy, a rule was made that a railing must be installed on the roof during construction in the first place. Since then, many accidents have decreased. In advanced countries, when a traffic accident occurs, the cause of the accident is analyzed from various angles. It analyzes not only the accident vehicle or the person involved in the accident, but also the road condition and situation. And then make improvements. In this way, accidents are significantly reduced. In Korea, there are many accidents caused by road conditions, although it is the driver's fault.
?쏻hen building a new house, make a railing on the roof so that people do not fall??is a valuable statement that should be applied to all areas of our lives. You shouldn't make excuses like bad luck, bad luck, or God's testing after you had an accident, made a mistake, or encountered a difficult situation because you didn't make a railing.
In particular, we Christians need to make a railing in our church life. We must build a railing of faith So you have to make sure it doesn't fall off.
When you do something, I hope you make a railing for it. Therefore, avoiding unavoidable difficulties is God's will, God's command, and God's word.
