Title Make the Church a Church 4
Contents
The moment you believed in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, came to you, and you became a man of the Holy Spirit.
From now on, our lives should be led by the Holy Spirit, not by our greed or our will.
The problem is that many Christians sometimes do not even realize the existence of the Holy Spirit, and even if they do know the existence of the Holy Spirit, they think, speak, and act independently of the Holy Spirit, and often do not even know the power of the Holy Spirit.
As shamanic belief has been passed down in Korean society for a long time, the church has also been greatly influenced by shamanism. In fact, it is not an exaggeration to say that the church has grown under the influence of shamanism.
However, it is a sad reality that Christianity has not been able to escape from its dualistic appearance under the influence of shamanism.
Shamanism does not require a holy life. On the other hand, Christianity demands a holy life. No matter how much money you give, if you say that a holy life is excluded and unclean, the Lord is not pleased.
Therefore, if shamanism is interested in what I want to receive, faith in God is to be interested in God, who can give me something before interest in what I want to receive.
While talking about the Holy Spirit, why did we start talking about shamanism?
This is because the Korean church taught the Holy Spirit as a phenomenon, not by its essence.
If there is a phenomenon that appears, the Holy Spirit is present, and if there is no such phenomenon or lack thereof, it has been dismissed as false faith or lack of faith.
Of course, we do not deny the work of the Holy Spirit, that is, a phenomenon we can see with our own eyes.
The Holy Spirit is a holy spirit, and there is nothing he cannot do because he is an almighty Spirit.
Wherever the work of the Holy Spirit is powerfully manifested, mysterious things happen and wonderful things are experienced.
But the Holy Spirit is the essence, not the phenomenon.
Just because the phenomenon has appeared, it is necessary to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and because the phenomenon does not exist, it does not mean that there is no Holy Spirit.
Do you know that the people who followed Moses after the exodus died in the wilderness because they lacked gifts?
Do you know that they could not enter the land of Canaan because they lacked miracles or experiences?
There are not many people in the Bible who have experienced many gifts and miracles like them.
Nevertheless, they did not escape God's judgment.
Why? He had the gift, but he had no faith.
There was experience, but no gratitude.
Only complaints and grievances were constantly expressed.
There were miracles, but they lacked enthusiasm to understand the heart of God who performed the miracle.
Faith in God is the essence, not the phenomenon.
Even if there are no miracles in my life, even if there are no surprises in my life, even if sometimes I am sick, even if I am ruined, nevertheless, in the midst of that, I can think of God, I can look at God, Faith itself is the ability to have courage and hope again.
