Subject: Do People Tired?
Text: Isaiah 40:27-31
Mencius of China advocated the theory of human sexuality.
In other words, people are born good, but as they grow up they become evil.
But the Bible says that man is born evil and grows worse and worse. If human beings are born good, a place like a kindergarten where only children are gathered should become heaven. However, if you look closely at the world of children, there are envy, jealousy, hatred, lies, and greed. Therefore, the human world is very tiring from kindergarten classrooms to graduate school classrooms.
In other words, the world in which humans live is nowhere near heaven, but almost as close to hell. That is why Buddhism says that in order to achieve true peace, true joy, and true happiness, we must leave the world. So if you look at the temples, most of them are located in the deep mountains where there are not many people. And people who are weary and weary in the world often go to deep intercession to find true peace, true joy, and true rest.
Everyone, including myself, will say, "I want to go far away somewhere!" You must have thought that. If this earth we live in, this Canada, or Korea is a paradise, why would you think that way?
In other words, those who think, "I want to go far away somewhere!" are those who are feeling quite tired from living on this earth right now. I immigrated to Canada because I am tired of living in Korea, but it is also a place where sinful people gather, so it is a tiring place even if there is a slight difference.
Such people say, "If I go to church, I can relieve my tiredness and find true rest!" They come to the church, but if you look closely at the church, you are tired because it is not a place where angels are gathered, but a place where sinners are gathered.
This church has a problem, that church has a problem, this person has a problem and that person has a problem. Therefore, many people come to the church, but they do not feel truly rest and become more tired, so they tend to stay away from the church.
If you can't find true rest and peace even if you go to church, what do you mean? Where the hell can we find true rest and peace?
The Lord speaks to us. “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) That is, instead of coming to church to seek rest from imperfect people, you should meet Jesus and seek rest from Jesus.
Everyone, if you come to church and do not meet Jesus and only meet people, you will eventually become tired and heartbroken. No matter how well you buy me food and treat me warmly, that person is not an angel but a sinner. Therefore, if you think that that person will give you true rest, eternal rest, you are mistaken. It is a path to failure. I like being tested. Of course, it is important to have fellowship while eating and drinking among the saints. But what is more important in the church is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).
It is important to trust with each other, but trusting in God should take priority. It is important for the saints to make peace with each other, but more importantly, they must receive peace directly from God.
The immigrant church is a place where you can help each other a lot. But getting help from God is even more important. People often let us down often. Tired. make you angry Therefore, if you look at people more than God, depend on people more than God, and live your life of faith, you will get tired later. In the end, "Oh, I want to go somewhere far!" And leave the church and heart.
Ladies and gentlemen, we come to church, isn't it just to meet people? And basically, we pray to receive help from God, and we do not pray to receive help from people, right? And God is taking me to heaven, not man taking me to heaven, right?
The Bible is very clear about human nature. "The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9)
Then I answer the essence like this. “Of course, if you look closely, there is no one righteous in this world. People make us tired. They put us into temptation. 'Do not depend on princes, nor on those who do not have the strength to help.' ) 'Our help is from the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth' (Psalm 124:8).
If you immigrate to a foreign land or study abroad, it is easy to get close to Korean people of the same culture, language, food, and race, and it is easy to get help from them. Moreover, the church welcomes new immigrants and study abroad people very much and tries to help in various ways.
As a result, when you come to church, your relationship with people naturally deepens. And if you deepen your relationship with people, you will feel disappointed and tired later on. And later, there are tests. At this time, "Oh, I'm tired!" If you say that, you are a fool.
Keep that in mind. In Korea, Canada, and in the church, in order to receive true rest, we must look to God, not people. We need God's help rather than human help.
Instead of trying to be comforted by people and find your place in them, you should be comforted in God and find your place in God. And instead of trying to get approval and praise from people, you should try to get approval and praise from God.
Look at the people of Israel.
They are God's chosen people, God's children. In today's terms, Christians, Christians. Moreover, they are the people who suffered a lot while living as immigrants and slaves in the land of Egypt for 430 years. Therefore, they knew each other's difficult circumstances and circumstances better than anyone.
They are people who should have pity on each other and give for each other. Moreover, the road to the land of Canaan is a wilderness road, and many difficulties follow. Therefore, we need to work together more and encourage each other more.
But what about the confession of Moses leading them?
In (Numbers 11:11,15), Moses confessed his fatigue like this. "Why do you trouble your servant, O LORD? Why have I not found favor in your sight, and have you entrusted me with all this people and made me bear the burden? If you will do this to me, I ask you, be gracious to me. Kill me immediately, so that I will not see my affliction."
If the Israelites were obedient, grateful, good, and loyal people, why would Moses make such a confession? In other words, although the people of Israel were chosen by God, they were still sinners, and they tire each other out with grudges, complaints, and various sins, so the leader Moses was exhausted and said that it was better to die than to die.
However, Moses was able to carry out his mission to the end even though he was on the verge of death from exhaustion and exhaustion due to the people of Israel, because there was God who always gave him strength and comfort.
Looking at the environment and looking at the people of Israel, he was exhausted and near death, but looking at God gave Moses new strength and was able to carry out his mission well to the end.
We meet God's children at church. In this foreign land, we need to cherish and love each other. However, for some reason, being with God's children sometimes becomes tiring. Sometimes it gets complicated. Sometimes I take exams. "I wish I hadn't come to church!" I want to go somewhere far away!"
In a way, it is a reality to think like this, and it is quite natural. Because even though the people of Israel were chosen by God, they are still sinners, so the members of the church are still sinners. In other words, the world in which humans live is tired wherever they go. And people make each other tired. So the Bible says: “The weariness of all things cannot be expressed in words; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, the ear is not filled with hearing” (Ecclesiastes 1:8)
Tired from meeting this person, tired from meeting that person, tired from going there, tired from coming here, tired from Korea, tired from Canada, tired from church, tired from meeting the saints You must meet the God who sets you free. We need to be comforted and encouraged by God. If you don't, you'll get even more tired and take the exam.
Today's text tells us:
“The LORD does not tire and does not grow weary; he gives strength to the weary, and gives strength to the weak; even the youth grow weary and weary, and the young men stumble and fall; but those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. It will be like flying up with wings, running and not getting weary, walking and not getting weary” (Isaiah 4) 28-31.
Also (Jeremiah 31:25), the Lord said:
“For I have satisfied the weary spirit and refreshed the sorrowful spirit.”
I pray that you will not be tempted or tired because of people in this foreign land, and that you will gain new strength while waiting for God and ascend as vigorously as an eagle flaps its wings.
