Matthew 21:12-17 Cast them out
- When the Lord visited Jerusalem for the last time in His life, He visited the temple in Jerusalem first. After entering Jerusalem on Sunday, he visited the temple on the same day and thoroughly inspected the situation, then took his disciples to Bethany and rested for one night (Mark 11:11). The next morning, early in the morning on Monday, the Lord took His disciples to the temple. At this time, the Jerusalem Temple was bustling with a festive atmosphere as it was preparing for millions of pilgrims during the Passover period, the biggest holiday in Israel. The people who enjoyed the most during these holidays were money changers and vendors selling sacrificial animals for those who would visit the temple.
- By keeping this Passover from generation to generation, God made the people of Israel remember God's grace, confirm their identity, repent of things to repent of through this feast, and make a new decision to make a new decision to preserve purity as God's people. you kept it. However, as the priests, who were in charge of the temple, who were in the middle of managing the temple and keeping these festivals right, fell, they turned the temple into a market where merchants take profits.
1. Verse 13/ Those who sell the gospel must be expelled from the church.
- Anything that has lost its essence no longer deserves to exist. Soldiers exist for the essential purpose of national defense. The police exist as the essence of protecting the weak and policing the country. A hospital is a place where patients are treated. The temple (chapel) is a place where God's children who have been saved by God's grace gather and pray. The Lord has clearly declared that my house will be called a house of prayer. However, he declared that he would abandon the temple because the temple had become filled with the sounds of business and bargaining.
2. Revelation 11:1-2 He tells us to measure the temple.
- Before God's terrible calamity comes, we must realize ourselves and turn around. We have to go back to the Word. You have to fight secularization. I sincerely hope that you will not be blinded by the world's vain temptations. Strive to meet in the temple. Hoping for heaven passionately. Longing for the Lord to come again. Consecrate my life for the kingdom of God before that day comes. Make the wisest investment.
