Title Matthew 28:1-10
Verses 9-10 record what Jesus said to the first women he met after being resurrected: “Jesus met them and said to them, “Is it safe?” Then the women went and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there you will see me." According to this text, Jesus said three things to the women. One is to say, "Are you in peace?" the other says, "Do not be afraid." Another is to say, "Go, tell my brothers, go to Galilee, and there you will see me."
This kind of heart of Jesus is also evident in the following words, "Go, tell my brothers, go to Galilee, and there you will see me." First of all, the fact that he was told to go and say “to my brothers” catches my attention. He didn't say "to my disciples", but "to my brothers." I'd be grateful if you didn't say "to my ugly disciples, cowardly disciples, liar disciples, braggart disciples, traitorous disciples," and not just "my disciples" but "my brothers." that's what you said. You have called me to be closer than ever before. These are words of forgiveness, unchanging love, and trust.
It is also worth noting that Jesus said, "Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there you will see me." Jesus didn't say, "They don't see me anymore, they don't deserve to see me anymore. I don't want to see them any more." Jesus was saying, "Go and say I'll see you in Galilee." Here we meet Jesus, who is the poor and lesser disciple, but who wants to see him unchangingly.
Here we can see that the resurrection of Jesus brought the resurrection of the disciples, the resurrection of faith, the resurrection of hope, and the resurrection of the mission along with his own resurrection. Through the resurrection, Jesus raised the disciples who had lost their qualifications and were spiritually dead and raised them back to life. Jesus resurrected their faith by making them believe that Jesus is truly the Son of God and the Lord of life who conquers death. Jesus resurrected their mission as apostles of the gospel by coming back to life and commanding them to spread the gospel.
Anyone who has met this resurrected Lord cannot but testify to him. Anyone who believes in the resurrection of the Lord must tell the truth. That is the life of those who have faith in the resurrection. I hope that today will be Easter Sunday, when we all make a new commitment to our lives.
