Title Meditation brings prosperity. / Psalm 1:1~2
Meditation brings prosperity. <Psalm 1:1-2 / Acts 17:10-15>
In today's text, the Bereans searched for the Word earnestly, and the Thessalonians were more "gentleman" than the church. So, when we get out of the given environment and live by God, we can enjoy the blessing of opening the way and prospering. The blessing of meditating on the Word is the blessing of success in opening the way in any case. Here, meditation (heh, ה■■■,) murmurs. It means to whisper. When I keep muttering and whispering with my mouth, those words take hold of me. As the word dominates the person, the work of the word will take place. “The words of your mouth have entangled you, and the words of your mouth have taken you” (Proverbs 6:2). At that time, the Word governs all life and actions. Humans are ‘thinking animals, so they can speak their thoughts and what they say can capture what they think. So, when we meditate on the Word daily in order to let the Word take hold of us, we can overcome our bad thoughts and sinful thoughts.
Then, let's think about how the blessings of prosperity come when we meditate on the Word.
first. When I meditate on the Word, I can know God's will for me.
The world created by God through His Word works according to God's will. So, when we live according to God's will, the way is opened. The will of God can be known when we meditate on the Word. Then you will see the path. Because where there is a will, there is a way. Therefore, believers must always meditate on the Word.
“Here are the words of eternal life, and where will I go” (John 6:68) The way is not made by me, but has already been made in God's will. The secret of victory is only possible when we find the path God has given us and follow that path. When we meditate on the Word of God, realize the will of the Lord, and become those who find the way, prosperity comes.
second. When you meditate, you can get out of the way of the world.
When we meditate on the Word, we can deviate from the ways of the world and avoid the wisdom of the world. “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful” (Psalm 1:1). We do not take the means and methods of the people of the world, which is the path of righteousness, and we can escape without chasing after the goal of the people of the world, which is the place of the arrogant.
third. When we meditate, power comes and bears fruit.
When you meditate on the Word, you can penetrate your way generously in your difficult situation. The road is not visible and the situation is difficult, but it is the power of the Word to break through it. Even when Daniel entered the lions' den, there was a way to escape, but because he followed the path of obedience according to God's will, he protected him even in the lion's den. After that, he opened the way for Daniel through the history of removing Daniel's silence in an instant.
“He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither, and all its events prosper” (Psalm 1:3). They pursued the fruit and bore fruit, and the mouth did not dry out, and the event was successful. When we meditate on the Word of God and hold onto it, I hope that God's power will come upon us, bear fruit, and glorify the Lord. Amen.
