Title Meditation Brings Prosperity / Psalm 1:1-2

Content Meditation brings prosperity / Psalm 1:1-2, Acts 17:10-15

The heart of Protestant faith is the Word. So, if we leave the Word, we fall and sin. Fall in the Bible refers to leaving one's position. When human beings leave the Word, they depart from their position and fall, but when they are centered on the Word, they can keep their position and enjoy the blessings that God allows. Therefore, the Word is power, the Word is life, and the Word is the standard.

“It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and are life (John 6:63).” The Word is the life-giving spirit and life. The Word is the milestone in our lives and the center of our faith. So, the position of the word is clear in the Bible. “In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. For he was with God in the beginning, and through him all things were made, and without him nothing was made that was made (John 1:13).

If the word that created heaven and earth lives and works here, creation will continue to take place here and now. Also, since this world was created with the Word, if we receive grace from the Word, we can overcome the world. It is also the Word that holds on to what was created by the Word to be maintained. “… … He upholds all things by the word of his power... … (Hebrews 1:3).” God has blessed us with His Word. It is also the Word that allows us to continue to maintain that blessing. That is why it is the Word that holds my life, my husband, my family, and my business.

If we go further, it is that God created the Sun, Moon, and the Holy Spirit and maintains it with the Word. The people of the world are maintained by the gravitational force, but even the gravitational force is maintained by God through the Word. It means that God maintains my life, walking, breathing, and even health through the word of God. The forgiveness of sins was also the word of Jesus Christ on the cross, and through that word we were washed from our sins. Also, if we hold onto the Word, we can overcome our sins. Therefore, we can overcome sin, which is the biggest cause of human unhappiness, with the word and destroy the devil's position.

“As Peter was speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came upon all who heard the word (Acts 10:44).” The Holy Spirit also comes as the Word. Martin Luther said that the Holy Spirit comes in the chariot of the Word. The Holy Spirit comes upon those who hear the word. Even in the Gentiles, the family of Cornelius, the Holy Spirit came upon them when they heard the words of Peter.

“I, the LORD, saith. Aren't my words burning? Isn't it like a hammer that strikes a rock and breaks it? (Jeremiah 23:29) There is nothing that cannot be burned before the Word, nor is there anything that cannot be broken and melted. In this way, the Word gives us the source, power, hope, and faith and love.

That's right. The secret to victory and blessing in this world is to meditate on the Word. At this time, God's blessing comes. Blessed is the one who delights in the law of the Lord, and meditates on it day and night (Psalm 1:2). Blessed are those who meditate on the word of the Lord. “He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; all its events prosper” (Psalm 1:3). Blessed are those who meditate on the Word, and when they meditate on the Word, they receive the blessing of prospering.

In today's text, the Bereans searched for the Word earnestly, and the Thessalonians were said to be more "sacred" than the church. The word gentleman refers to a person who is meek, that is, a person who is not controlled by circumstances and emotions, but is governed by the Word. So, when we get out of the given environment and live by holding on to God, we can enjoy the blessing of success in opening the way. The blessing of meditating on the Word is to receive the blessing of prosperity that opens the way in any case.

Meditation here has the meaning of 'murmuring' or 'whispering'. When I keep muttering and whispering with my mouth, those words take hold of me. As the word dominates the person, the work of the word will take place.

“The words of your mouth have entangled you, and the words of your mouth have taken hold” (Proverbs 6:2). The ability of the Word to rule over me and the ability of the Word to be revealed to me depends on how much I meditate on the Word. At that time, the Word governs all life and actions. Humans are mind animals, so we can speak our thoughts and what we say can capture our thoughts. So, when we meditate on the Word daily in order to let the Word take hold of us, we can overcome our bad thoughts and thoughts of sin. So meditation is important. Then, let's think about how the blessings of prosperity come when we meditate on the Word.

1. When you meditate, you can know God's will for you.

There are many things in the world created by God through His Word that we do not understand, but it works according to God's will. So, when we live according to God's will, the way opens. So, how can we know God's will? If you meditate on the Word, you can understand its meaning. Then you will see the path. Because where there is a will, there is a way. Therefore, believers must always meditate on the Word.

“Simon Peter answered, Lord, to whom shall we go? How blessed are you? The road is not made by me, but has already been made in God's will. Making a way and finding a way are two different things. Nevertheless, humans fail and are unhappy because they do not find their way in the Lord according to His will, but make their own way. So, the secret of victory is only possible when we find the path God has given us and follow that path. Prosperity comes when we all meditate on the Word of God, understand the will of the Lord, and become those who find the way.

2. When you meditate, you can get out of the way of the world.

When we meditate on the Word, we can deviate from the ways of the world and avoid the wisdom of the world. “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scorners” (Psalm 1:1). I do not stand in the way, nor sit in an arrogant seat.

In other words, in the meditation on the Word of God, God gives blessed wisdom to the wisdom of the world, which is the trick of the wicked, the way of sinners, the worldly goal, the goal of the worldly person who does not take the ways and methods of the sinner, and can escape without sitting in that seat. will be However, if we do not meditate on the Word of God, we are saved, but it is difficult to get out of the way of the world. I hope you all meditate on the Word.

3. When we meditate, power comes and bears fruit.

When you meditate on the Word, you can come out of the world, but you can also go out of your way in a difficult situation. The road is not visible and the situation is difficult, but it is the power of the Word to break through it.

Even when Daniel entered the lions' den, there was a way to escape, but Daniel faced difficulties entering the lions' den because he followed the path of obedience according to God's will in the Word. But what did God do? He protected by blocking the lion's mouth, and after that, he opened the way for Daniel through the history of removing Daniel's silence in an instant. It is the blessing of prosperity.

“He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; all its events prosper” (Psalm 1:3). In other words, when we meditate on the Word of God, like a fruit tree planted by a stream, it bears fruit according to the seasons, and the mouth does not dry out, and the event prospered. Meditate on your words. When we meditate on the Word of God and hold onto it, the power of God comes upon us. May all the saints bear fruit and glorify the Lord.
