Content Everyone, do you know what this is? That's right, it's a boomerang. What does a boomerang do? It is a weapon used to hunt animals or war in the past. Nowadays, it is used as a playground equipment. When a boomerang is thrown, strangely, it always returns to the place where it was thrown. When a well-made boomerang is thrown, it “should” return to the thrower. The word ‘must’ means that it will be the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. A boomerang always comes back to where it was thrown, whether it was thrown yesterday or today. Tomorrow will too. That's what 'must be' means.
However, people are not good at keeping the word ‘must be’. If we, ○○○, say to my mother, “Mom, I will definitely be first in the class this time, so please give me 10,000 won. I promise.” If you do, your mom will probably say something like this. "must? How are you sure? If you get 1st place, then I will give you 10,000 won.” No matter how hard he studies, he can make mistakes, and if another friend works harder, he can't keep this promise.
“My friend, we will see you at church at 1 o’clock. I will definitely keep my promise.” Even this promise cannot necessarily be kept. It could be a traffic jam, an accident, or something else. Like this, we say ‘must be’, but there are many cases where we cannot keep it.
However, once you say ‘must be’, there are people who keep it like a boomerang ‘for sure’. It is God. Once you make a promise to God, keep it until the end of the world. Never make a mistake like us or miss a promise for any other reason. Such promises of God are contained in this Bible book. The words we learn today are also God's promises.
God has promised us today, “If you pray and believe, it will surely come to pass.” If you pray, you will surely hear it. This is God's promise. However, there are two conditions for God's promise. He said that if we keep this well, God will surely hear our prayers.
The first is to believe and pray.
"Hey! There hasn't been a drop of rain in the last few months, so how did you bring an umbrella today, as if you knew it was going to rain?"
Then the little boy answered the adults with a puzzled expression on his face.
“Aren’t we gathered today to ask God to make it rain? Then, of course, you would know that you need an umbrella, so why didn't you bring one?"
Our friends, what is the difference between adults and children who have brought umbrellas in this story? Ok. The adults doubted that prayers would come true, but this little friend believed that God would surely grant them. So I brought an umbrella. So, who caused God to send rain? Yes, you saw this child's pretty faith. In this way, God must hear the prayers of those who pray with faith.
What is the second condition for hearing prayer? That is, we must pray that God likes. When you throw a boomerang, it must come back, but sometimes it doesn't. That's when it's a badly made product. A bad boomerang doesn't come back no matter how well you throw it.
If you ask for prayer, it must come true, but there are prayers that do not come true no matter how much you wait. There are also bad prayers in prayer. “God, that friend is tormenting me. Please help me get sick.” Or, while playing every day without studying at all, “God, I have to improve my grades this time. You know? Please help me.” If I prayed, would God hear that prayer? Prayers that harm others, prayers to satisfy our greed, prayers without love, prayers that boast of ourselves, etc. These bad prayers are not answered by God.
Well, now you know? If you pray in accordance with God's will and believe that He will surely grant you, God will surely hear your prayer. Shall we all pray together while keeping this fact in mind?
