Old Testament R>
1. Naaman, the commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man before his master, for the LORD had given him to save Syria; and he was a mighty man, but a leper.
2. Once upon a time the Arameans went out in a group and captured a young girl from the land of Israel, and she served Naaman's wife.
3. And he said to his mistress, I wish that our master was before the prophet in Samaria, and he will heal the leper.
4. Naaman went in and told his master, saying, "This is what the girl from the land of Israel said."
5. And the king of Syria said, Go, now I will send a letter to the king of Israel. As soon as Naaman left, he took ten talents of silver, six thousand pieces of gold, and ten sets of garments.
6. And he delivered the letter to the king of Israel, saying, "I am sending my servant Naaman to you, and when this message comes to you, heal him of his leprosy."
7. When the king of Israel read it, he tore his clothes and said, "Am I a God who kills and brings life to life? Why does he send a man to me to heal his leprosy?" You think deeply, and that king takes time to argue with me. Know that you are going to do it. R>

The ordeal of faith experienced by Naaman
James 1:2-4
Faith grows through trials. The reason God allows trials to the children he has saved is to give them great faith. Because faith grows through trials. General Naaman, who had leprosy, came to Elisha to be healed, but he needed faith to be healed. How did his faith grow?
1. First Trial Great and Honorable: Naaman was a trusted and competent servant before his master, the king of Syria. The king valued Naaman so much that he gave gold, silver, and clothes to cure him of an incurable disease. Although Naaman was ill, he considered himself a great warrior.
2. Second Trial Poor prescription: Elisha did not honor Naaman, who came to receive treatment for her illness. In the eyes of Naaman, the prophet Elisha was irresponsible and even rude. Without seeing Naaman himself, Elisha had ordered someone to wash in the Jordan River seven times.
3. The third ordeal The body turned away in anger: Naaman felt neglected, his self-esteem was hurt, and his anger was so intense that he decided to go back without doing what he was told. He thought it was wrong for me to come to a place I shouldn't have come. But Naaman listened to the counsel of the servant, swallowed up his shame and shame, turned around, and went down to the Jordan River to save his life.
Things that would have been nothing if they were just ordinary people turned into trials for Naaman, a great and honorable man. For someone who gets angry, says something decisive, and has already turned around and left, changing their minds and hearts can be difficult for those with high self-esteem. What is the trial of faith we are going through right now?R>
