Matthew 1:21-23.
Christmas.
I asked elementary school students.
64% young children answered.
Most of the children answered yes.
But Christmas is the birthday of Jesus. It is a season to think of Jesus. I became the 7th mother of many children. All the children gathered. We ate well and didn't even think about washing the dishes, just getting together and talking. My mother did the dishes by herself.
We should focus our attention on why Jesus came to this earth.
(Mt 1:21-23)
These words were spoken by an angel appearing to Joseph.
What God hates the most is sin.
We cannot live with God doing what God hates.
There was a certain boss and elder. The elder hated two things. He hated lying and smoking. One morning I went to work and stopped by the office. An employee was smoking a cigarette when he saw his boss and quickly hid the cigarette behind him. The boss laughed and said.
He said it unknowingly.
And the boss went into the president's office. No one said a word to the temple. He resigned himself. An employee should not do what the boss hates. A man of God must not do what God hates. What God hates the most is sin.
After Adam and Eve, all people have a sinful nature because of original sin.
This is a story that happened in prison. Most of the prisoners who came to prison after committing a crime did not know how to write. The guards started teaching them to read.
One prisoner studied hard, and he was finally able to read and write in prison. As I left prison, I vowed to live a good life.
I was determined to never go to prison again. But one day, he returned to prison and lived. The crime was this.
Basically, people have a sinful nature. If you follow sin, you will go to hell.
I saw a pig farmer dragging the pigs to the slaughterhouse without a whip.
Thousands of pigs were on their way to the slaughterhouse without being scattered from the ranks.
The pig herders took a close look at each one. The pig herder was at the forefront, sprinkling a handful of the pig's favorite beans in front of the pig.
The pigs picked up their favorite beans and followed them, and it turned out to be a slaughterhouse.
Jesus came to this earth today to save us from our sins.
It is the second most read book in the world after the Bible. It's a tale of cloth by John Bunyan. As Bunyan was exercising on the lawn, God's voice was heard.
After thinking deeply about this question, I threw away all my sins and wrote a book with a clear spirit.
In today's text, the angel said:
Jesus came to save us from our sins. What does it mean to be saved from sin? When He says that He will save us from sin, He means three kinds of salvation: past, present, and future.
1. Past Salvation
Jesus came to this earth for salvation in the past. If you serve Jesus, you will be freed from all the negative lives of the past. The Bible is the story of people who met Jesus.
After Peter, the fisherman, met Jesus, he became a great Apostle who repented of 3,000 or 5,000 people a day, freeing himself from his past life.
A whore 7 Mary Magdalene, who was possessed by a demon, became a saint when she met Jesus. She remained at the bottom of the cross to protect it and became the first woman to find the grave.
Zacchaeus, who had collected the nation's taxes and paid it to Rome, met Jesus and became a philanthropist helping the poor.
Jesus came to this earth in human flesh to save us from the past.
This is a story from the Talmud.
It is a story that took place in a village in Israel.
One child was such trouble at school. The teachers used oil to make them fall. They abused children and always had to pay for their treatment.
The principal called the parents and expelled them. I was expelled from a Jewish school and went from school to school, but I was always expelled because of trouble wherever I went.
Now, the only school left was a Protestant school. I was forced to attend a Protestant school.
A few days later, the principal was calling the parents again. My heart sank down.
I sighed and cautiously entered the principal's office. said the headmaster.
The parents were surprised and returned home to ask their son.
said the son.
By the cross he was transformed. Through Jesus he was saved from the past. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the one who saves our past.
2. Present Salvation
Jesus not only saves the past, but also the present.
He came to this earth to save us from poverty to wealth and from sickness to health.
(3 John 2-4)
The egg has three parts: the yellow one, the white one, and the shell. The tabernacle was divided into three parts: the Court, the Holy Place, and the Most Holy. Noah's Ark was a three-story ship. The Israelites always prayed by calling the name of the three patriarchs.
However, man is made up of flesh, soul, and spirit. None of them are to be neglected. Everyone is important. But the most important thing is the soul. All 20,000 auto parts are important. Have you ever driven a car with a broken window brush on a rainy day? Have you ever driven a car that lost one of its rearview mirrors? All are valuable parts. But the most valuable is also the engine.
Both soul and body are important. But the most precious thing is the soul. When the soul prospers, all things prosper and we become strong.
A 14-year-old girl came to see Napoleon, and knelt down in tears.
Napoleon did not know English and asked the story. The girl answered with tears in her eyes.
Napoleon said with an anguished expression on his face.
The girl did not back down at all and asked.
Napoleon was moved by his words and forgave him. God is the one who cannot do anything.
You are the one who can solve everything.
Russian scientists studying the human lifespan have been experimenting with interesting studies for a long time in animals.
An ideal living environment was provided for the first group of animals. Abundant food, fresh air, and a comfortable environment were created to live there. The animals had a lot of fun in the meadow. The hair is starting to shine.
Another group of animals provided a space for worry and joy to coexist. While playing leisurely, I was sometimes attacked by wild beasts.
They worked hard to get food, and they always lived a relaxed life. As a result, we came to this conclusion.
Sometimes things happen that make us nervous. There are things that make you sick. But these things make me pray more and get more nervous. But the bottom line is that those things make it better.
Waves make sailors competent. Jesus came to us to save us from every problem, disease, and curse.
3. Future Salvation
Jesus came to this earth for future salvation. Future salvation means salvation from hell after a future death.
Jesus came to this earth to save us from our sins. To save us from sin means to save us from hell.
Hell is a place to suffer forever in a pit of fire. There is a common story of countless people who have gone through hell spiritually in grace in a vision. I would like to tell the story of one of them.
Pastor Baxter wrote a book called Returning After 30 Days of Hell Tour. It's one of the stories in the book.
After wandering around hell, I came across a room with a bonfire. It was time to go through hell with Jesus. A man's sobbing was heard in the room.
He was weeping. When Pastor Baxter saw the face of Jesus, Jesus was crying too.
The man spoke again.
Jesus said with tears in his eyes.
said the man.
Jesus said quietly.
The man said to Pastor Baxter.
This is what hell looks like.
Jesus came to this earth to save us from this hell. Someone said this about hell.
Jesus came today to save us from such hell.
I would like to conclude with a conclusion.
This is a story that happened at the Elementary School in Monterrey, Canada, which I visited recently.
It was a day nearing Christmas. This school was preparing a Christmas play. So I was recruiting theater roles. But one student wanted to do a play. Ralph was a student. I was a 4th grade student. But Ralph had an emotional disability. I couldn't speak properly, but I really wanted to do a play. I stuttered. The action was also slow. The teacher wanted to give him courage. So I decided to put him into a play.
So I entrusted you with a role. I couldn't take on a role that talks a lot or has a lot of action. So we found one of the most talkative roles. That was the innkeeper's job.
When Joseph knocks on the door of the inn with Mary with the baby, the innkeeper only needs to say a word.
You only need to say this three times. It was a very easy assignment.
It was a role that only had to be done three times like this. I thought Ralph could handle this. So the teacher made me practice the play hard. Since it's a single word, I practiced pronouncing it carefully over and over again. I thoroughly practiced theatre. Now the play has begun.
During a play, Joseph spoke to the innkeeper. I spoke for the third time.
The teacher who was teaching the play held his breath and watched Ralph play his role.
The third time he asked for a room, Ralph suddenly began to cry. he said loudly.
Suddenly, those who watched the play became silent.
Why don't we all open our hearts and cry out this Christmas morning?
