Title New Year's Wish/Philippians 1:19-21
An elementary school student wrote this poem under the title ‘New Year’s Wish’. “I want to be pretty. I want to make more friends. I hope all of our families are healthy. I want my dad to make a lot of money. I hope I can study well. I wish there was unity. I want it to be a peaceful world.”
In the new year, everyone has a burning wish. They all have one wish, ‘I hope this year, I hope this will come true’. A politician has a wish as a politician, a businessman has a wish as a businessman, a housewife has a wish as a housewife, and a student has a wish as a student. Even the beggar who hangs the door will have a wish.
If we think about the types of wishes that people have, first, there are wishes that they have according to the will of God. In God's will, there are people who know God's will, know who they are, and set a right purpose. Also, there is a wish that follows human greed. There are also various wishes that follow the greed of a person, “I want to become a great scholar, to become very rich, to become a great businessman, to gain a lot of fame, to gain popularity, and to gain world power. Also, there is a wish to be tempted by the devil. They betray, frame, trample their personalities, and harm their lives for temporary pleasure and success. Such a person has absolutely nothing to do with heaven.
Dear saints, What wishes do you have in your heart right now? You may have a wish that you wish to come true this year. May that wish be fulfilled, glorifying God, and becoming a great success in your life.
It should be a wish to know where we are.
First, you must know that you are a Korean citizen. Today, if we realize that we are the people of the Republic of Korea, we should love this country and have the desire to do our best for this country. We must love this country, this people. We must constantly pray for this country. We must pray with tears of repentance for the sins of this nation. Moses said, “But if you agree, now forgive their sins. If not, please blot out my name from the book you have written.” John Knox, a 16th-century Scottish pioneer and reform hero, said, “Give me Scotland. Otherwise, give me death.” We also said, “Give me Korea. Otherwise, give me death.” You must pray. When we do that, we believe that God will dispel great sorrow and satisfy our desires.
Second, we must know that we are a member of the Holy Spirit Church. If you are a child of God and a people of God, you must have the desire to love and devote yourself to the Church, the body of the Lord, for one year. The truth of the full gospel is freedom from sin and guilt. First, there is the freedom you get when you are filled with the Holy Spirit. Freedom in the power and joy of the Holy Spirit, freedom of salvation. There is also the freedom to serve, to dedicate, and to be loyal to the church the freedom through action. A person who knows how to enjoy this freedom is a mature person and a person who is pleasing to God. However, because not many people know how to enjoy this joy of freedom, there is no maturity in faith, no change in society, and no real blessings in our lives.
And we must make our church a church that is devoted to prayer. The early church was a powerful church. That power came right from prayer. They prayed in any situation and in any place. I set a time to pray in the temple, and I prayed at home, on the road, and even in prison. The Lord has commanded our saints in the last days to pray and to be awake and sober saints. So let's pray. Our church should not be simply a church just for our church. We need to instill a vision in the world and this country, and make it a church that gives strength and hope to many people in Seoul, Seongnam, Gwangju, Bundang, and Hanam. Let's help the poor and needy people a lot. Let us be a church filled with the Holy Spirit. Let's become a church where many miracles of the Holy Spirit occur. Let's become a church that sees and understands God's grace. I bless you all to receive the filling of the Holy Spirit.
Third, you must know that you are a believer only in God. You and I, who were regenerated through the Word and the Holy Spirit, who became God's people, are clearly saints separated from sin. The life of a believer must be a life filled with the Holy Spirit. It must be a life that imitates the heart of Christ, hears the message of Christ, shows the dignity of Christ, and proclaims Christ.
In particular, you must make your family the home of God. God created the family as a resting place on this earth. When God created the family, his purpose was clear. Because it is not good for people to be alone, He created a family and allowed them to enjoy rest.
The most important thing to do at home is to serve the Lord. Families should gather together to sit quietly in front of the Lord, pray, read the Word, share and discuss new insights or doubts, and establish a family where God is always with God through family worship. And you have to practice love. The content of a life that serves God well is in love. No matter how much you pray, how hard you try to gather, how much service you do, and how much worship you give, if you don't practice love, it's hypocrisy and you can't receive blessings. God is love. Therefore, a family serving God must be a furnace of love. The home should be a fountain of love. I pray that your family will become a happy family that serves only God and always fully receives and shares the love of God, the source of love.
you must have a wish
Today's text, "According to my earnest expectation and hope, I am not ashamed of anything, but I am now fully confident as before, that Christ may be glorified in my body, whether by life or death" (20). From these words we can see that Paul had three wishes.
First, he wanted to be a person who was not ashamed of everything. The Apostle Paul wished to be without shame before God and before men. He wished not to be ashamed in the face of great or small things, public or private, and even in the face of enemies who persecuted him (Acts 24:16). Also, in front of the church members, he confidently said, “Brothers, imitate me together, and show those who follow us as our example.” We, too, should live a life free from shame in everything we do.
Third, Paul wanted only Christ to be honored. Paul had no idea whether he would live or die. However, as he lived, it was his wish for Christ to be honored as he lived, and his wish was for only Christ to be honored as he died as he died. Therefore, from this time today, I hope that you will have precious and valuable wishes. Let's hope to be someone who is not ashamed of anything. Let's always wish to be bold. Whether you live or die, I pray that you will be the ones who want only Christ to be honored in my body.
How can I make my wish come true?
What are your wishes this year? May all your wishes come true in the Lord and it will be a year when wishes come true. I will pray for you. I pray that you will be healed of diseases, overcome the fears of life, rise from failure, despair, and loneliness, be saved from sin and evil situations, and overcome death and the power of Satan. I also pray that God will bless your industry. I bless you that wherever you sweat, wherever you sow seeds, there will be 30, 60, 100 times the fruit. It is always above and not below, and it is a year unless it is the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13). I pray that all things will go well with you and that your life will be strong as your soul prospers.
2004 I pray that all your wishes come true in the Lord, in faith, and with God's blessings abundantly in this year. Therefore, I earnestly pray in the name of the Lord that all of you who fulfill God's holy and perfect will will become.
