Title [New Year] Blessed One (Psalm 1:1~6)
Contents
When God created man, he made him a blessed being. In creating man, God was filled with joy. God's joy brought grace and blessings to all the earth.
Today's text is talking about a blessed person. Blessed people go with prosperity. I go with God's help. I go with the word. It goes with ability. Such a person is a lucky person.
However, the prosperity of the blessed person is different from the prosperity that the people of the world say. It's not about prospering when things go according to my will. This is not to say that there are no difficulties or difficulties.
The success of a person who is in God is that he does not lose his leisure and stamina in the midst of difficulties and sufferings in any environment. It is not to lose the joy of worship. It is to keep hope and vision in the midst of prayer. This is the prosperity of Christians.
(Philippians 4:12-13) 『[12] I know how to be in need, and I know how to abound. In all things I have learned the secret of being satisfied, and of hunger, abundance, and want, [13] in him who strengthens me. I can do everything.”
Those who prosper in God always have God's helping hand on them. The Word guards his left and right. The power of God is revealed in your home, work, business, and every area of your life.
So let's be a blessed person. If God blesses you, no circumstances can take away that blessing. No hardship can turn his blessing into a curse.
Then, let's find out who the lucky person is.
1. Blessed are those who have a living spirit.
In order for the spirit to live, we must ask for the help of the Holy Spirit.
(3 John 1:2) “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in good health, as your soul prospers.”
(John 1:12) “To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
(Psalm 2:7) “I bring you the Spirit, and the LORD said to me, ‘You are my son; today I have begotten you.
(John 6:63) “It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.”
(Romans 8:11) “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”
2. Blessed are those who think with the Spirit.
To think with the Spirit, you must meditate on the Word day and night.
(Romans 8:6-7) “[6] The mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. [7] The carnal mind is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law, nor does it There is no way.”
He who thinks in the spirit,
1) A person who seeks God's will
(Matthew 6:33) “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
2) A person who treats others
(Matthew 7:12) “Therefore, whatever you would like others to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”
3) A person who transcends obligations
(Matthew 5:41) “And if anyone compels you to go the duck, walk with him two miles.”
4) A person who knows how to give up (a person who knows how to control himself)
(Matthew 5:39-40) “[39] I say to you, do not oppose the evil one; if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn the other side as well [40] to have”
3. Blessed are those who speak blessed words.
(James 1:26) “If anyone considers himself religious and does not bridle his tongue and deceives his heart, this man’s religion is in vain.”
(1 Peter 3:10) “Therefore, whoever loves life and desires to see good days, keep his tongue from speaking evil, and let his lips not speak deceit.”
(Proverbs 18:20) “A man is satisfied with the fruit of his mouth, and he is satisfied with the fruit of his lips.”
(Isa 57:19) “Peace be with them both far off and near, says the LORD, who produces the fruit of the lips; peace be with them, and I will heal them.”
(Proverbs 20:15) “There is gold and many pearls in the world, but wise lips are more precious.”
(Proverbs 22:11) “There is virtue in the lips of those who desire purity of heart, and a king is his friend.”
(Proverbs 23:16) “If your lips speak uprightness, my heart will rejoice.”
4. Blessed are those who keep the Word.
(Luke 11:28) “But Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.”
(Proverbs 30:5) “Every word of God is pure, and God is a shield to those who trust in him.”
Today's text also speaks of the blessings of those who meditate on the Word.
(Psalm 1:1-2) 『[1] Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, [2] but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. I am the one who does.”
