Romans 2:6 ~ 2:7
The word “good” is the Greek word Agados, which means good, good, capable, kind, and just.
In the New Testament, goodness is an expression of God's work of redemption (John 10:32). It represents a good life (1 Peter 3:17, Romans 13:3, Colossians 1:10).
First, when Jesus did good, he was rejected (John 10:32).
The reason Jesus was rejected is because I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them out of the Father's hand. He said, “I and the Father are one.” (John 10:28-30)
The standard of whether a person is saved or not depends not on the lineage, but on whether or not he believes in and follows Jesus Christ.
However, the Jews at that time would not have tried to stone Jesus if they had realized and believed that Christ was the Son of God.
Because of their spiritual ignorance, when Jesus said that I and the Father are one, we are equal with God.
In the end, their spiritual ignorance gave Jesus over to death (John 19:1-6).
The only way to overcome spiritual ignorance is to come into the world and do good things (John 10:32)
In other words, to receive Jesus, who preached the truth. (John 1:4 There is life in Christ, John 1:12 He gave the authority to become children of God to those who received it. John 1:13 Those who were born of God .)
Like Jesus, when you do the Lord's work, you must be patient and do good even if you are rejected.
Second, when you suffer for doing good, you must overcome the reality (1 Peter 3:17).
A person may suffer hardships to keep their faith and conscience. that is, for the sake of
1. Posture in times of hardship
㉮ Even if the persecutors threaten you, you must not be afraid or shaken. (1 Peter 3:14)
㉯ Each of us must have Christ as Lord in our hearts (1 Peter 3:15).
㉰ Believers must live with a clean conscience (1 Peter 3:16). Those who keep the truth are the cause of persecution.
However, persecution will not come to those who are compromising and do not keep the truth. But the compromiser runs the risk of falling into death.
2 Timothy 3:12 says that everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
2. Those who were persecuted
㉮ You can see Jesus Christ, the apostles, and the saints of the early church. Jesus died on the cross, and the apostles spent their whole lives in persecution. (Acts 12:2, 7-11, 19-40, 18:14-16, 26:31) July 18, 64 AD There was a great fire, and Emperor Nero was a Christian, so he propagated falsely, crucifying and burning Christians to death, and made them a spectacle of many people.
㉯ During the 2nd and 3rd centuries, there was a long period of persecution for about 200 years. During the reign of Emperor Pesius of the Roman Empire, he was persecuted and forced to bow down to the Roman image, and in refusal to comply, he killed faithful Christians.
㉰ Queen Mary of England burned and killed 277 Protestants. The true church shone even more during persecution. The Council of Nicaea established orthodox doctrine in the presence of those who had been beaten during persecution.
1 Peter 4:14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory, the Spirit of God, rests on you.
Conclusion While doing good, even if there is no reward, do not become discouraged (Galatians 6:9) and be patient. The Lord will reward you. (Ephesians 6:8) Please keep doing good.
