Title Now, We Need Something Big
Now, we need something huge
Text/ Mark 1:9-11
1. Introduction
It's Lent 2010. This year, Lent is 40 days from March 9 to the day before Easter (April 24), excluding the six Sundays from Ash Wednesday. Lent is a period of spirituality and godliness training while meditating on the public life of Jesus, trials in the wilderness, suffering and death on the cross.
2. We need something huge now
A young Korean man was studying at Columbia Law School in New York. In the same class, there was a female student from England. The girl was in love. But the next semester, the girl didn't show up. Where did you go? Did you drop out of school because it was difficult to study? What's going on? I was curious for a while, but I thought it was because I was busy with my studies and passed by. As one semester ended and a new semester began the next year, the girl suddenly appeared.
Oh! nice to meet you No, why haven't you seen me? What happened? Where have you been?
Yes, Africa! I crossed Africa from east to west in a truck.
What? In the midst of that busy law school student, you didn't travel on a regular basis, but crossed Africa from east to west by truck? Her answer to this question was a quote.
“Yeah, I needed something huge!”
What is the image of “People who have been broken-hearted those who have been betrayed by love those who have failed in love” on Korean television?
Tears - 悲戀 (painful) - A drunken and haggard appearance - Abandoning everything in daily life - Que Sera Sera - Woo Jung-chung - Goes the sword of revenge - Incarnation of Jealousy - Collapse of self-esteem - Wandering here and there sleepless - You are like this can you anger - come back, give me - it's my fault! These are images of mournful appeals, etc. But the girl who failed in love said, "Yeah, I needed something huge, so I traversed Africa in a truck from east to west!" It is said. How cool is this!
3. Now we need something huge. What is it?
first. We are the Awakening-Enlightenment-Enlightenment-Awareness of the profound and colossal dimension that each of us is the Son-Daughter of God-Father-Father.
* At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan River. Immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Holy Spirit descending on him like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, saying, You are my beloved Son. I rejoice in you.” (Mark 1:9-11)
Just as Jesus did when he was baptized, I too know that God the Creator is my Father and that I myself am a son-daughter of God the Creator, rather than the level of understanding (doctrine) - other people's theory - rational understanding. , it is necessary to become enormously self-aware on a profound level that is consensualized by my own innocence.
second. A huge flow of flow to the words of the Bible is required. I made a huge plan of my own to read 66 books of the Old and New Testaments 100 by myself, and since I entered the seminary in 1981, I have read 31 so far. I think what is absolutely necessary is to renew your mind and read 100 Bibles in one day.
No, I need a huge plan to finish 100 readings soon and 200 readings.
third. All I need right now is a huge travel plan.
In the meantime, I have been to China (3 times) - Hong Kong (1 time) - Japan (5 times), which is close to “aid from a friend or related organization + 500,000 won self-pay”. I have been living in the US-Europe-Pilgrimage to the Holy Land as it is not up to my level.
But as I thought about it, I realized that this was not the case. Now I have a strong feeling that what I need is a huge travel plan. Starting this year, we will have to raise savings, pray, and plan a plan for a huge trip.
(1) March 2012 - Pilgrimage to Israel.
(2) March 2013-Turkey-Greece Pilgrimage.
(3) Every March since 20014, one trip to the United States-European important country, Spain-Italy-France-Germany-UK, etc.
(4) Others - Pilgrimage to sacred places in Korea - National parks - 100 famous mountains.
Now, I need something huge! Not only me, but I think it will be the same for all of us who are celebrating Lent in 2011, even if our appearance and circumstances are different.
