Principles of life of holy people
Numbers 15:1 41
After receiving the report on the results of the spying in the land of Canaan, the Israelites complained to God and said evil words to return to Egypt, and they sinned. Because of this sin, the entry into the land of Canaan was delayed for 40 years. Entering the land of Canaan after 40 years would have sounded impossible. However, in order to give you hope that you will be able to enter the land even though it is delayed, it teaches you the principles of life that you must follow by entering the land. We present three fundamental principles of life that holy people must follow when entering the holy land. These three principles of life are essential in order to live holy lives as holy people in a holy land. And it is the principle of life that we must follow in order to live as holy people today. This is also the principle of heaven. It's no fun if you can't go to a ski resort and ski. If you dislike this principle, Heaven is not a good thing.
First, we must offer proper worship. Verses 1-21
The purpose of God calling the Israelites out of Egypt was to make them worship God. When Moses told Pharaoh to let the people of Israel go out of Egypt, he said that the purpose of their coming out of Egypt was to worship God. “They will listen to you, and you and their elders will say to the king of Egypt, Let the Lord our God come to us, and let us go about three days into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God” (Exodus 3:18).
The New Testament also says that God chose us to worship God. “In whom you also heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, and were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. It is the guarantee of our inheritance, that he may redeem what he has obtained, to the praise of his glory” (Ephesians 1:13-14).
Therefore, the first thing the Israelites had to do when they entered the land of Canaan was to offer upright sacrifices to God. Among their sacrificial laws, a sacrificial rule not commanded in Leviticus is added. When offering various sacrifices, they are told to grind finely ground wheat as a grain offering and wine and offer it to God. Wine caused many problems in the Bible. Nadab and Abihu of Noah, Lot, Aaron. If we use the tools to sin as tools to serve God, we can be freed from sin. And the fine flour completely loses the original wheat form and the flour changes. But when it comes to powder, you can make it into any shape you want. When we completely break our self and give it to God, God makes it into the shape He wants.
Second, do not accumulate sins. 22-35
Although we are a holy people living in a holy land, humans are fundamentally sinners and therefore have no choice but to sin. Even if we try not to sin, we sin without knowing it. “If you have sinned unintentionally,” the emphasis is mainly on unintentional sin. If you commit a sin without knowing it and God makes you realize it, you must offer a sin offering and deal with it immediately. As a holy people, we do not sin intentionally, but we can sin unintentionally. We sin because our bodies are weak. To save those who commit these sins, God instituted a sin offering. When we sin, we must immediately bring it before Jesus, who offered his body as a sin offering for our sins.
Third, live to look different from unbelievers.
The Israelites were told to put wine on their clothes. Liquor means 'race'. This means that those around you can clearly see that they are God's holy people. In the New Testament era, we are to be distinguished as a holy people, not through different clothing, but through a different life.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, which is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:2).
