standard of complete dedication
Numbers 6:1 27
There are standards for the health of the body. There is a criterion when it is at its best. You need to know this criterion to know how your health has gone wrong. When it is healthy, there are standards when it is at its best, such as blood pressure, sugar levels, and liver function. Even when we dedicate ourselves to God, we need a standard of what the best devotion is. In the Bible, those who live and ordained wholly for God's sake are called Nazarites. They are separated from the world and live completely for God. The devotion of the Nazarites is the standard of complete devotion.
The Nazarites forbade three things. Drinking alcohol, cutting hair, being close to a corpse. Therein lies the standard of devotion.
First, it excludes all pleasures of the flesh.
The Nazarites did not drink wine. Wine symbolizes joy. It symbolizes worldly joy and physical pleasure. It is to completely exclude the pleasures of the flesh and the pleasures of the world, and to focus on all things pleasing to God. In the New Testament era, the Holy Spirit expressed this meaning through Paul as follows:
“Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).
The first standard of complete devotion to God is to make it God's pleasure no matter what. It is sad to me, but I do it because it is God's joy. To swear at people who harm me and not to do evil together is a great pain and sorrow for me, but it greatly pleases God.
Even when I eat food, I must not eat it for my own pleasure. We should refrain from foods that hurt the body God has given us, and we should also refrain from good foods and eat bad foods for our health. This is the first commandment the Nazarite must keep.
Second, it acknowledges the sovereignty of God in all life.
Nazarites cannot cut their hair. This means giving God all sovereignty over your life. It is most accurate to solve the Bible with the Bible. Hair symbolizes the smallest things that have happened in the world.
I urge you to eat food, for this is for your salvation, and not one of you will lose a single hair (Acts 27:34).
The woman said, "Please, remember the Lord your God, so that the avenger does not kill any more, for I am afraid that I will kill my son." The king said, "As the Lord lives, not one hair of your son's hair will fall to the ground." (2 Samuel 14:11)
Jesus used hair in this sense. “Even the hairs of your head are all numbered” (Matthew 10:30).
Third, don't worry about the things of the world that will perish.
Even if the corpse is your father's mother's shichi, not touching it means that you should not care about anything that is valuable or will decay. “Consider the things above, not the things of earth” (Colossians 3:2)
In the New Testament era, all believers are Nazarites. You must follow this rule. If you can't keep it, you have to start today. You have given me a chance to start over. If there is a problem in the middle, start over. verse 12
