rejoice in acceptance
Numbers 7:1 89
It is a worry when preparing a gift for a noble person. It's okay if I can buy the best because I have a lot of money, but I'm worried when I prepare the best for my circumstances, but objectively it becomes insignificant. In fact, it is a great grace that a precious God accepts the worthless things we offer. God sees our heart and accepts us when we give with all our heart and sincerity. We must thank God for receiving it and offer a gift that is acceptable to God. What kind of gift was God pleased with?
First, he delights in devotion following the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
“On the day when Moses finished setting up the tabernacle, and anointed it for sanctification, and anointed all its utensils and the altar and all its articles for sanctification” (Numbers 7:1).
After Moses completed the tabernacle, he did not give it to God as it is. All the equipment for the tabernacle was anointed with oil and set apart. It is a symbol that cannot be used for anything else and should be used only for the work of God. No matter how valuable it was, it could not be given to God unless it was anointed with oil.
Since oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit, it means that every dedication we make must be anointed by the Holy Spirit. Whatever we give, the Spirit of God must first come into us and anoint us. Giving with a human mind without the guidance of the Holy Spirit is not a perfect gift. Therefore, whatever we do, we must first pray to God and receive guidance from the Holy Spirit.
“He who doubts and eats is condemned, because it is not according to the faith; everything that is not according to faith is sin” (Romans 14:23).
Not everything you have can give to God. We can give only when we are moved by the Holy Spirit of God. You must be anointed with the Holy Spirit to receive it from God. Whatever you give, you must first pray to God and receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Second, if we give as much as God allows, He is pleased.
God has given everyone different talents to serve Him. So, don't compare yourself to what other people do, but give thanks and dedicate yourself to what you have given to me. To the Gershonites two and four chariots, and to the Merari four and eight oxen, he gave no limit to the Kohathites. Each of them was given their respective duties. He has given us all the talents we deserve to serve God. You should value what you receive and use it.
Third, He delights in giving with thanksgiving.
The representatives of the twelve tribes of Israel all presented the same gift to God. It was given in gratitude for the dedication of the tabernacle. When they all gathered the materials to build the tabernacle, they gave generously to their strength. God was pleased with their offering. Recording the same list of offerings over and over again means that God has received them individually, and that God does not neglect one individual's small offering just because there are many offerings.
