Obedience to the Word and Blessing

(2009.05.24. Week) (Deuteronomy 28:1~6)

May is Family Month. - We want all the families of Kyungil Church members to be blessed families.

Because of our members, we want the families of the members to be blessed, the work they do, and blessings to come to the children, grandchildren, and descendants of the members.

So today, I am going to tell you how the saints can receive blessings. The secret is in the Bible.

* So please try it - - I pray that you will be blessed by believing and obeying.

1. What is obedient faith?

It is said that obedience brings blessings, but what is true obedience?

(28:1) - “If you listen carefully to the word of the LORD your God and keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you above all the nations of the world.” There is.

1) Obedience is obedience to the Word.

Through the Bible, the Word of God, God is telling us everything that people will do.

Therefore, to obey God - we must obey God's Word, the Bible.

To obey the Bible, you must first know the Bible well - To understand the Bible well, do not take the words written in the Bible lightly, but listen deeply. You have to listen.

*Lot's sons-in-law were destroyed because they thought Lot's words of God were a joke.

*Adam also took lightly the word of God that he would die if he ate the fruit, so he ate the fruit and became a sinner.

*In today's text, he also said, "Be careful and listen to the word of the LORD your God" and "obey the word of the LORD."

*Do not take the Bible, the word of God, lightly. - Please listen carefully. That is the first step to obedience.

2) Obedience is obedience to the Word.

Knowing and not doing is not obedience. Obedience is to listen carefully to the Word and then put it into practice.

(Matthew 7:21)-"There is a saying, "Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

(Matthew 7:26) - “He who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.”

(Matthew 7:24) - "He who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock."

Listening to the Bible and just knowing it is not of much benefit - listen carefully, know it, and put it into practice.

I pray that you will be blessed with the faith that carefully listens to God's word, obeys it, and puts it into practice.

2. The blessings received through obedience are great blessings.

(28:1) - "If you listen carefully to the word of the LORD your God and keep all his commands that I am giving you today - the LORD your God will set you above all the nations of the world."

I pray that you will become the saints who receive the greatest blessings among all people in the world.

1) Receive blessings everywhere.

What use is it if you receive a blessing at church and then take it all away when you leave the church?

What use is it if you receive a blessing today and lose it tomorrow? - Obedient believers are not limited to such temporary blessings.

(Verse 3) “You will be blessed in the city, and you will be blessed in the field”- (Verse 6) “You will be blessed when you come in, and you will be blessed when you go out.”

Whether you enter the city or go out to the fields, you will receive blessings wherever you are.

At church, at home, at work, at school - wherever you go, I pray that you will be blessed.

2) Descendants are blessed.

* One man Abraham was blessed for his thorough obedience, and the blessings passed on to Abraham's son Isaac, grandson Jacob, 12 great-grandchildren, and their descendants and descendants after generations.

(28:4) - “Blessed will be the children of your body, and the produce of your land, and the offspring of your beasts, and the offspring of cattle and sheep” - Please believe that the children of obedient believers will be blessed - Children Even if you can't pass on a lot of material things to your children - if you obey God well - you can pass on a great inheritance to your children.

I pray that you will pass on a blessing to your children with an obedient faith.

3) You will be blessed in what you do.

If you farm, the land yields a lot, and if you do livestock, the young of the hide will prosper, and - if everything goes well, it is given to obedient believers.

I wish you the best of luck in your work by becoming obedient believers.

4) Receive the blessing of wealth.

Some people make a lot of money, but there are others who don't know where to go.

Earnings are important - but the wealth you accumulate is more important.

(28:5) - “Your basket and your bowl of bread dough will be blessed” - Obedient believers will not find the bread of their labor in vain, but a wealth to eat.

I pray that you will be blessed with obedient faith and enjoy abundance.

Let's feel it while reading *.

(7) The LORD will defeat before you the enemies who rise up against you. They have come in against you by one way, but they will flee before you by seven ways.

(8) The LORD will command you to bless your storehouses and in all the work of your hands, and he will bless you in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

(9) The LORD will make you a holy people according to the oath he swore to you, because you will keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in his ways.

(10) All the peoples of the earth will see the name of the LORD called for you, and they will fear you.

(11) And the LORD will bless you in the land which he swore to your fathers to give you, so that your offspring and offspring and the produce of the land will increase.

(12) The LORD will open for you the beautiful treasury of heaven, and he will bring rain on your land in its season, and he will bless you in all the work of your hands.

(13) The LORD will make you head and not tail; he will only be above and not below; but you will hear the commands of the LORD your God, which I am commanding you today, and keep them and do them.

(14) It will be like this, unless you turn aside from the word I am commanding you today, neither to the left nor to the right, and follow other gods to serve you.

3. Disobedience will result in terrible punishment.

*- Please read the warning and be alert.

(15) All these curses will come upon you and come upon you, unless you obey the word of the LORD your God, and do not keep and do all his commands and ordinances that I am giving you today.

(16) Cursed is you in the city, and cursed is you in the field.

(17) Cursed is thy basket and the bowl of bread dough.

(18) Cursed shall be the offspring of thy body, and the produce of thy land, and thy oxen and the offspring of thy sheep.

(19) Cursed is you when you come in, and cursed is you when you go out.

- Today's Word requires only one obedience from us.

*If you carefully listen to the Word, obey it, and obey it - It is a promise that your descendants will prosper wherever you go, whether you go in or out, your work will go well, and you will be blessed with material wealth.

*On the other hand, it warns that if you disobey God's word, you will be cursed rather than blessed.

* I pray that the saints who obey and obey God's word will do well anytime and anywhere, accumulate material things, and become blessed for generations to come.
